Chapter 100: Divine Extinction

Clang!

The sound of metal striking metal rang out as the Wind Demon Dagger slammed into a metallic shield.

Forged from a special material, the dagger rebounded violently.

As it recoiled, the dark, profound light emanating from the bracer on the Fierce Hanzi's wrist vanished instantly.

Crack.

The bracer shattered into two pieces.

But the most shocked person wasn't Han Yi, whose dagger had been blocked, but the Fierce Hanzi who had activated his Body Protection Skill.

This bracer was a treasure he had inadvertently obtained after raiding a Robber Cultivator. He had tested its protective Spirit Light and confirmed it could withstand his full-force attack.

In other words, the power behind Han Yi's dagger strike was equivalent to his own full-strength blow.

The bracer was a one-time-use item, and with only one charge of Spirit Light remaining, it crumbled after Han Yi's attack. Having lost a vital defensive measure, the Fierce Hanzi's face contorted in shock.

His astonishment wasn't over. As the dagger was blocked and the protective light dissipated, he glanced around and his pupils constricted sharply.

The Fierce Hanzi managed to block one dagger, but three more streaked past him, targeting the other twelve.

What drove him to the brink of madness was the sight of three rampaging beams of light tearing through the hundred-meter radius. Piercing screams erupted in rapid succession, only to be abruptly silenced.

"Damn it! Is this what you meant by..."

The Fierce Hanzi whirled toward Liu Heng beside him, but the words died in his throat. Liu Heng had already bolted backward in terror, fleeing as if his soul had abandoned him.

"Liu Heng, you're courting death!"

Though he yearned to chase Liu Heng down and strangle him on the spot, the Fierce Hanzi knew the immediate threat lay with Han Yi. Turning back swiftly, he saw that seven of his eleven loyal brothers had already fallen.

Only three Ninth Layer Qi Refinement cultivators and one Eighth Layer cultivator, who had managed to hide behind them, stood huddled together, desperately fending off the three shimmering pale-red Wind Demon Daggers. Even their precarious defense seemed on the verge of collapse.

These Qi Refinement cultivators, though fearless in battle, possessed only ordinary talent. Otherwise, they would never have turned to banditry. Their combat skills differed little from those of rogue cultivators.

While they could form a killing formation against a Ninth Layer Qi Refinement cultivator like Luo Zhiguang from the Cultivation Family, they proved utterly vulnerable against Han Yi, a cultivator known for his ruthless decisiveness and relentless aggression.

Witnessing the carnage, the Fierce Hanzi's eyes blazed with fury. Without hesitation, he summoned two black orbs into his hands.

The orbs differed in size: one was fist-sized, while the other was half that size.

"Die."

The instant the black orbs appeared, the hairs on Han Yi's back stood on end.

But facing multiple opponents, all with cultivation realms higher than his own, he couldn't possibly defend against every threat.

The two fist-sized orbs collided. With a flick of his finger, the Fierce Hanzi unleashed a beam of black light from the shattered remains.

This was a one-time-use special Magic Artifact: the Mother-Child Divine Extinction Pearls.

His trump card, capable of annihilating even a Peak Qi Refinement cultivator caught undefended in its blast.

The battle had unfolded with terrifying speed. Han Yi's ferocity had been decisive; in less than a breath, seven of the twelve cultivators lay dead. The Fierce Hanzi could no longer afford to hold back.

In that instant, Han Yi reacted with lightning speed.

He blasted backward, simultaneously conjuring a Flame Shield. With his other hand, he retrieved three Spirit Talismans from his Storage Pouch: a High-Grade Body Protection Talisman, a High-Grade Escape Talisman, and a Top-Grade Yin Thunder Talisman.

He slapped the first two talismans onto his body, then channeled mana into the third, thrusting it forward.

Boom!!

Kaboom!!

Two terrifying explosions erupted almost simultaneously.

The first came from the Mother-Child Divine Extinction Pearls. The black light they emitted pierced through the Flame Shield, shattered the High-Grade Body Protection Talisman, and slammed into Han Yi, who was already enhanced by the Escape Talisman. The blast grazed his shoulder as he dodged, instantly incinerating his dark blue robes. A searing pain shot through his left arm as blood sprayed into the air. A bloodied figure retreated, leaving a trail of crimson droplets in its wake.

The second explosion detonated among the four cultivators—three at the Ninth Layer of Qi Refinement and one at the Eighth Layer. Huddled together to fend off the Wind Demon Dagger's attacks, they were closest to Han Yi's escape route. As the Yin Thunder Talisman descended, it illuminated their deathly pale faces.

Some cultivators activated Body Protection Spirit Talismans or other defensive measures, their bodies shimmering with Spirit Light. But the Yin Thunder Talisman was too swift; in a single flash, it shattered all their defenses.

The raging thunderous force severely wounded even the Spirit-Body Dual Cultivator from the Blood God Sect, who was on the cusp of Peak Qi Refinement, leaving him powerless to retaliate. How could these four ordinary Eighth and Ninth Layer Qi Refinement cultivators possibly withstand such a blow?

After this single strike, even if any survived, they would barely cling to life.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield...

Propelled backward by the Escape Talisman, Han Yi's expression twisted in pain. Enduring the searing agony in his left arm, he focused all his divine sense onto the Chengying Sword at his waist, gripping the hilt with two fingers of his right hand.

The Chengying Sword shot forth, its black blade resembling a dark dragon, piercing through the chaotic aftermath of the Mother-Child Divine Extinction Pearls' detonation. Ignoring the still-violent Spirit Energy field and the shattered fragments of the Flame Shield, it traversed the tens of meters separating them and plunged into the Fierce Hanzi's eyes.

Whoosh!

A hundred meters away, the Chengying Sword lay embedded diagonally in the ground, only its hilt visible, staining the sand with a trace of blood.

Back on the battlefield...

!

The Fierce Hanzi remained standing rigidly, his eyes devoid of any hint of death.

He had never imagined that even the Mother-Child Divine Extinction Pearls could fail to kill Han Yi.

Death came too swiftly, too unexpectedly. The Fierce Hanzi's final thought hadn't even registered his impending demise before his consciousness dissolved, leaving him lifeless on the spot.

Within the Formation Arts, a momentary silence descended, broken only by the relentless roar of Spirit Energy and the crackling remnants of the Yin Thunder Talismans.

Ten breaths passed before Han Yi stumbled into view from several dozen meters away. He first manipulated the nearest dagger to detonate the lingering Yin Thunder Talismans, then finished off the two Ninth-Layer Cultivators who were barely clinging to life.

Finally, he slowly approached the Fierce Hanzi, who still stood tall, a sword wound piercing his forehead.

Han Yi himself was far from unscathed. This was likely the most perilous battle he had faced since transmigrating, and he had nearly stumbled at the very end.

The azure robe covering his upper body had been completely incinerated, revealing the golden Body-Protecting Inner Armor beneath. His exposed left arm dripped with blood, throbbing with agony.

Fortunately, he had decisively deployed three Spirit Talismans: a Body Protection Talisman to buy him time, and an Escape Talisman to propel his rapidly retreating body. This allowed the mysterious black light to merely graze his left arm. Even so, the limb was severely injured. Had the attack struck him directly, Han Yi was certain he would have died on the spot.

Danger. Extreme danger, no less perilous than the moment he boarded the Immortal Ship in the Myriad Demon Mountain Range, narrowly evading Han Xuxiao's final sword strike.

Han Yi lowered his gaze to the two black orbs shattered into fragments on the ground, a lingering sense of dread and fear gripping his heart.

"What exactly were those things? Single-use Magic Artifacts? They're every bit as powerful as the Golden Light Shuttle."

His eyes then turned toward the direction Liu Heng had fled.

Liu Heng's figure had blurred the instant he crossed a hundred meters, confirming Han Yi's suspicion that the formation was merely a concealment technique, designed to mask Spirit Qi fluctuations within a hundred-meter radius and prevent detection.

"This place is too dangerous to linger."

Despite the formation, Liu Heng's escape, and Han Yi's severely diminished combat capabilities due to his injured left arm and depleted Mana, meant that if Liu Heng returned with reinforcements, he would have to fight desperately once more.

First, he summoned the four scattered daggers and the Chengying Sword, which had fallen askew into the ground, securing them for protection.

Then, he swiftly cleared the battlefield, gathering his spoils: the Storage Pouch, Magic Artifacts, Inner Armor, and other treasures. He collected the shattered fragments of the black orbs before locating and retrieving the Formation Eye.

After ensuring nothing was left behind, he tossed two Exploding Talismans to obliterate all corpses, then turned and fled without hesitation.
