Dark lord's POV:
It would seem that my little Noxy is a sore loser, as she pushed me to the other side of the continent after losing our little game of tag. After cleaning up my ship a bit, I began our second round of tag. This time, she would have a head start. Even with the spatial gates I used to shorten the travel time, I still only barely made it there by the end of the 5th day, but my little Noxy doesn't want to play tag anymore. Instead, she seems to want to play hide and seek instead as I can't seem to sense her anywhere.
"Damn those 'losers'!" I muttered.
If she hadn't blocked the tracking function on our engagement ring, I would have found her by now. She must have discovered some unknown method while dealing with those losers who dared place those chains on my Noxy. When I find out who they are, I'll skin them alive. Those were my thoughts as I was sitting in my VIP lounge waiting for my cowardly court mage who claimed he had something important to show me.
"If it isn't something to do with catching her, then I'll hang him up by his-!"
"HEY! SUP BOSS!"
Just as I was contemplating how to best punish my treacherous duo of uncle and nephew, the jester slammed open the door to the room, interrupting my thoughts. Behind him was a teenager with dark hair and a slightly pale complexion.
"Speak! What was so important you had to interrupt our search to show this great lord!" I asked, as I could feel my mood growing worse by the second.
"Hey! Stop pushing me! Boss! please calm down!"
"Whoa! Easy there, boss, or you're going to burn our new recruit!" The uncle said from behind his nephew.
"Recruit? You delayed my pursuit over a mere recruit!?" I could feel my blood boiling as I glared at them.
"Is this a joke?" The pale young man interjected, showing almost no hint of fear in the face of my bloodlust.
"Hey kid! Please stay quiet before you piss him off even further!" My court mage said.
"So, you're in on it to? I thought this was a serious offer!"
"It is, now keep quiet and let us do the talking!"
"If that's true then how come your boss is the crappy spirit of Christmas!?"
"What?"
"HAHAHAHA!"
"…?"
I stood there, confused at the young man's words. Meanwhile, the floating jester seemed to have realized something as he started laughing.
"I do not recall ever meeting you prior to this! And who is this spirit of Christmas you are referring too?"
"Come on boss! Just drop the act already!"
I was wondering why these two seemed so eager to show me this fellow, but it seems like he has a death wish. At least I'll have someone to take my anger out on.
"HAHAHAHA! Eh! Hey boss! Stop! This is a misunderstanding! Don't kill him!"
I could hear the jester stop laughing as I moved before this arrogant brat and lifted him up by his throat. But just when I was about to punch a hole through his abdomen, I could feel a familiar presence nearby. I quickly dropped him to the floor and rushed to the scene where I felt it.
After becoming a nascent soul cultivator, I gained a sixth sense that makes me more sensitive to the elements around me. I had expanded my senses as far as they would go to find her, but nothing had turned up until now. I could feel a sudden vortex sucking in the surrounding energy near the colosseum. It reminded me of how her recovery method functioned as it relied on the surrounding elements to work. And there she was.
I had just moved through space to teleport into the sky outside the arena. I was using my qi to stay afloat in the air as I looked down at an open window where I could see her. She had just pulled her hands out of some buff guy as she was swaddled in clothes too big for her, that to my dismay seemed to belong to a man. I could not help myself from leaking out some bloodlust at the thoughts plaguing my mind. Unfortunately, she noticed my presence as she soon turned her head to look in my direction.
