Chapter 94: The Birth Of A Slowpoke!

Shinji's POV:

As the ceremony was about to end the elf approached me again.

"Can I hel-! Ugh!"

Without a word the elf representative hit me on the chest with a palm strike, and I could feel something leave my body.

"YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" The sage yelled at the elf.

"It's as I suspected! Your spirits are foul 'SPRIGGANS'!" The elf said, using his spirit magic to spread his words through the entire stadium.

I looked behind me to see little flower and little thunder, reeling on the ground. This bastard had just used some unknown method to push them out of my body, before announcing their identity to the entire magic society.

"Oh no! Child! Do you not know the gravity of forming contracts with these creatures?" the sage asked me.

"All I know is that they are being persecuted by other spirits! Ugh!"

Just then, the ground beneath my feet twisted and morphed into an earth pillory that bound my hands and head. Meanwhile, a red light left the elf's body as a dome of fire formed around little thunder and little flower. The red light soon manifested the body of a lightly dressed man with charcoal black skin and fire replacing his hair.

"SPRIGGANS ARE EVIL SPIRITS THAT CORRUPT THE MIND AND ARE TO BE EXTERMINATED SHOULD THEY EVER APPEAR! SUZUKI SHINJI, BY BEING TRICKED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THESE DEMONIC BEINGS YOU HAVE BEEN CORRUPTED AND WILL FACE THE SAME PUNISHMENT BEFORE YOU CAN CAUSE ANY MORE DAMAGE TO THE WORLD!" The elf said as he gestured for the fire spirit to kill little flower and little thunder as the dome of flames surrounding them seemed to shrink.

Despite also being part fire spirit little thunder couldn't escape the flames!

"NO! DON'T!"

However, just as the dome of fire was about to crush and burn the two, it suddenly stopped as a familiar voice was heard.

"Didn't I warn you? If any of you step out of line again! I'll kill you!" The professor said as he appeared behind the fire spirit and pierced his hand through its chest.

*Crackle*

Soon after, the body of the fire spirit seemed to fade away as I noticed the red bead in the professor's hand.

"YOU HOW DARE-!"

*BANG*

*Crackle*

*Sizzle*

Just as the elf started yelling at the professor, he suddenly pulled out his magic gun and fired it at him without a word, but right before it hit him, a forcefield was suddenly erected in front of him, deflecting the attack.

"Old man. If you don't want to die an early death, then stay out of this!" The professor said as he turned to the sage.

"I would love to, but unfortunately, my agreement with the other sages prevents me from allowing the death of their representatives!"

"YOU! HOW DARE YOU ATTACK A-"

"PIECE OF SHIT WHO DON'T HAVE THE POWER TO FIGHT HIS OWN BATTLES! NOW SHUT THE HELL UP YOU PUSHOVER!" the professor yelled over the elf.

"The rule of Walpurgisnacht forbids the harming of its participants and until the sun has risen again which is still a few hours away, that law still applies! The Walpurgis island's as well as the rules of Walpurgisnacht are written and dictated by the sages themselves, hence any violations of these rules by a single representative is an outrageous offence, as it is not only an abuse of power it also spits on the decisions and agreements made by the sages themselves. In other words, you have no reason to protect this criminal!" The professor spat out at the sage of runes.

"I suppose you are right, but that doesn't mean I can allow you to judge and execute him at your own leisure! That said you on the other hand just attempted to murder an official representative of the sage of the fay, which cannot go unpunished!"

"Oh! And what of the boy, will you then kill him to?"

"He is not to be harmed until the break of dawn. HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?!" The sage yelled at the other representatives.

*Snap*

Right after the sage spoke, the professor turned to me and snapped his fingers. Soon after my restraints crumbled away, as a forcefield was suddenly erected around us.

"Hey brat number 2, it's time to decide your future! I'd be willing to bet even with those spriggans, there are still plenty of people willing to take you in secretly! So, tell me! Have you decided on a backer yet?"

I couldn't help feeling conflicted as a thought popped into my head. Despite the voice in the back of my head trying to dissuade me, I decided to say it anyways.

"It's you!"

"Hm! What about me?"

"I want to join your faction!" I said as I mustered my courage.

He may be mean, and he may be mad, but he was the only one who supported me when everyone else looked down on me, he was always there to save me when nobody else would, and he was the only one who let me be someone.

"Sure kid! But if you want to join me then you have to do like the other two!"

Just then I remembered what the objective of my other two missing classmates were in coming here.

"PLEASE BOSS! TAKE ME IN AS A DISCIPLE!"

"That took you long enough! Well then, my new baby 'Slowpoke' you better pay attention for I'm about to teach you a valuable lesson in power!" He said as the forcefield shattered around us.
