Sold – Part IX

Just as the Warden of the slave establishment pulled out a pack of cigarette from his drawer, a knock was heard on the door.

"Come in." He said, frowning. A lean man walked in.

"What is it?" The Warden asked the man – Nicholas.

"With the auction being tomorrow, the buyers are demanding younger girls, Sir."

"So?" Asked the Warden, lightning up his cigarette.

"We currently only have five girls who are below the age of twenty." Nicholas reported. "I'm afraid we won't be able to meet their demands."

The Warden was quiet for a while, trying to come up with a solution.

"During the auction, start the bid at a high price." He said. "Since they are desperate, they would be willing to pay any amount."

"Yes, Sir."

"Also, make sure to gather as much girls before the next auction."

Nicholas was about to leave, but then he remembered. "Sir, the girl that was brought in yesterday hasn't received any trainings yet."

"Is she young?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Then it doesn't matter. We need the money."

Nicholas was skeptical. "What if she tries to escape from her owner?"

"A little threat will prevent her from doing so."

"Understood, Sir."

Oakley woke up to the sound of the cell door opening before a guard walked in.

Wait a minute. When did she even fall asleep? Was it already morning?

Oakley wasn't the only who had woken up as Everleigh was already sitting up on the ground.

The guard still didn't leave.

What was going on?

"Step out." He commanded and Everleigh immediately stood up. Oakley followed her as they left the cell.

"Is something going on?" She whispered to the woman she was following.

"I think today is the day of the auction." Everleigh said. "They are going to select the girls for the auction now."

"What!" She didn't mean to scream, but it was unexpected.

She thought she had time to plan an escape from here. She thought she would be staying here for maybe a month at least so she could get used to the place. Maybe even convince Everleigh to come with her.

Looks like she might have to escape from her owner instead.
