three requests

It has been a week since Alex met Princess Mia from The Princess Diaries.

As curious as he was to find out if there were other characters from TV series or movies in this world, he stuck to his plan of reading as many books as possible during school breaks in the library.

There is a saying: Curiosity killed the cat.

No matter how curious he was, he had no intention of changing his plans to investigate things that would become clear over time.

Today was Friday, the beginning of the weekend, and Alex was in the library reading another book titled Analytical Geometry.

Mia was sitting on the other side of the table, eating her lunch with him.

During these moments, they had many conversations, and Alex was sure that this girl was indeed the Mia he thought she was.

Her mother's name was Helen Thermopolis, and her father's name was Philippe Renaldo.

Unlike the movie, where she moves to New York City, in Manhattan, she and her mother had moved to Medford when she was six years old.

Alex asked,

"What grade are you in now? I never asked you that."

Mia answered happily,

"I'm in fourth grade."

Alex thought, So she is the same age as me.

Knowing this, Alex realized that it had been three years since Mia moved to Medford. In the movie, she discovers she is a princess at 14, meaning there were five years left until that day.

But Alex wasn't sure if things would happen the same way as in the movie. For him, everything he had seen was chaos amidst it all.

...

Friday passed quickly, and soon it was Saturday morning.

Alex woke up before seven o'clock. He woke up as usual, took care of his needs, and went to the kitchen for breakfast.

His father, Jonas, as always, was reading his morning newspaper while sipping his hot cup of coffee. His mother, Melinda, was preparing pancakes for breakfast.

He took some pancakes onto his plate, poured honey over them, filled a glass with pure orange juice, and ate his breakfast in silence.

A male voice broke the silence. It was Jonas.

"Son, your mother told me that you read some pretty difficult books for someone your age."

Jonas had been busy with work and hadn't had much time to get familiar with these changes, but when he got home, he always had time for his wife's concerns.

Melinda said,

"Your father and I don't understand your changes, but we believe in you!"

Jonas added while looking at his wife,

"That's right. Even though we don't understand, we can say that you are special, just like that boy Sheldon."

"We just want you to know that, regardless of everything, your mother and I love you very much!"

"Yes, as long as we can help you with anything, we'll support you in everything," Melinda said quickly.

Alex stopped eating his pancakes and looked at his parents, who had expressions of concern and affection.

For a moment, he opened his mouth to say something, but after a brief hesitation, he remained silent.

In fact, he still felt guilty for taking the body of this couple's son. Even though he had tried to convince himself otherwise, he still didn't feel worthy of wanting more from this family.

His father, noticing Alex's hesitation, gave his wife a deep look, which she quickly understood.

She quickly moved, pulled the chair closer to Alex, sat down, and held her son's small, warm hands.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke with a look of love and care,

"Son, it's okay. You can tell your father and me. As long as we can help you in some way, we'll do anything for you."

Alex looked at his parents, thought for a moment, clenched his teeth, and said,

"Actually, I want to ask you both for three things."

With a look, he observed his parents, who remained silent, as if telling him to continue.

Taking a deep breath, he gathered courage and spoke,

"First, I would like to skip a few school years, just like Sheldon."

"Second, I want permission to turn the garage into a laboratory."

Looking at his parents, who were still silent, he continued,

"Third, I want a computer. It's okay if it's not possible."

After that, he remained silent, waiting for his parents' response.

Melinda and Jonas exchanged glances for a moment, and Melinda was the first to speak,

"Can you tell us why you want these things?"

Author's Note:

As I mentioned in the previous chapter, plans don't always keep up with changes.

I clenched my teeth and wrote this chapter.

I hope you liked it! This internal monologue from the MC might be annoying, but I hope you'll be patient.

As a novice writer, I'm making many grammatical mistakes, and some sentences might sound a bit strange depending on the country you live in.

I write each chapter from scratch without using AI, and I read it multiple times until I find the right flow.

I use AI to check for errors I might have missed, but often it changes the original text, which gives me a headache.

I have a question for you all: regarding Mia, will it be a romance or not?
