The Evil Manifested – Chapter 4

In response to Wang announcing he would take vengeance for Weng, Ming strode towards him.

> "Pops, just be safe. "It appears that the king is scheming the ruin of our Myung family."

Wang's fists tightened, his voice is thunderous with anger.

> "I don't care. I will break his cursed king's hands myself!"

Mina's hand rested lightly on his shoulder.

> My heart, you always have been merciful…

Then she looked at her son Ming stoically, and with a powerful voice, she had told:

> "Cut the king's hand off … not the whole hand, let him know who he's dealing with.

Ming laughed with an inhuman cackle that resounded like a devil's whine.

> "Mother, you voice reached the heavens only just now!" That was terrifying!"

Wang gave a grim smile and nodded.

> "Fine…to palace."

Wang's mind raced as they walked.

> "Hyuu, His Majesty has finally understood the real power of our clan. Eight years ago, he sent an assassin to try me. My spies told me everything. He believes he can play games with us? Let's see him tremble now. "

So great was Wang's voice as he came to the gates of the palace that the earth trembled at his shout, and thus he spake:

> "Who dares challenge me?!"

His voice sounded as loud and powerful as an army going out to war. The king recoiled in horror.

> "W-Wang! You promised you would never kill me or betray the crown!"

Wang's eyes glowed coldly.

True. Never did I swear not to make you miserable."

In a flash, Wang disappeared and reappeared behind the king. Before anyone could move, he clasped the king by the arm and hewed it off.

Gasps filled the hall. Ministers sat paralysed in fear.

Yang took advantage of the opportunity and threw a concealed dagger. It hit Wang in the shoulder.

One minister stammered:

> Y-Your Wang… You brought so much chaos. In Wair, harming the king is a sentence of exile — for you and your entire family!"

Wang, unfazed, spat:

> "Laws? Hmph. Wolves are not governed by the rules of sheep."

Guards shouted in unison:

> Myung family has gone into exile!"

But Wang merely smirked.

> "I don't care. We're leaving."

As they fled, the healers swarmed the king — not Wang — and started attending to his wound.

---

Later, Wang turned to Ming.

> "How's your brother?"

Ming nodded.

> "He's recovered. His strength is returning."

Wang smiled.

> "Good. Gather the family. We are relocating to the Sayu Forest."

Ming obeyed immediately. As he was about to leave, he summoned a black flame, tossing it around the Myung manor, reducing the manor to dust. They traveled six hours before coming to their rest close to the woods. Wang ordered:

> "Let the children sleep. Men, prepare food

Ming sat beside Weng.

> "So you opened the Shadow Gate then?"

Weng nodded.

> "When I saw you in danger, I couldn't help it."

> "So… how much power is the shadow?

> "It gives me the ability to change forms."

> "Then change thy shape, and be an old man."

Weng focused. His body aged into an old man. When Mina saw him, she asked:

> "Who is this?"

Weng grinned.

> "It's me, Mother. Weng."

She gasped, then laughed.

> "When will your life go back to normal?"

Ming answered:

> "In twenty-four hours."

Mina embraced them both.

> "My sons … I'm proud of you."

Ming smiled warmly.

>"I'm training in the cave." my little son said to me. I don't want to be disturbed.' "

She pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.

> "Be careful, my son."

Ming, entered the cave and sat down to meditate.

> When the mind is still… even ice turns to glass. Everything becomes clear."

---

In the meantime, the minister of the king came with soldiers.

Wang saw them coming.

> "Prepare yourselves!"

Roaching-Beine led the brutal attack. Soldiers killed women and children without compunction.

Wang attempted to muster his strength … but it wasn't there.

The minister laughed cruelly.

> "What's wrong, Wang? We sealed your veins. You're powerless."

Wang bellowed, grabbed a sword and brawled with unadulterated power. But they rose up and overwhelmed him, and one by one, the warriors of Myung fell.

Wang was the last.

As he fell to the ground, blood gushing from his holes, he whispered:

>"Never depend on one power… trust all your powers."

He fell silent.

---

Mina screamed as she watched her husband fall. Weng fumed to himself, still transformed into an elderly man.

But neither of them had an opportunity to act before soldiers had shot three arrows into Mina's heart. She crumpled to the ground.

The troops couldn't identify Weng because the priest had disguised himself. They beat him on the neck and threw him down.

Yang stepped forward.

> "Where's Weng?"

Rong asked:

> "And where's Ming?"

One of the soldiers answered:

We'll find them."

Then it was over, and Yang made her way to Mina's body. He then proceeded to remove the skin from her face with a sick smile.

> "Myung, your little sister, will like this prize."

They left.

---

Ten minutes later, Ming finished his workout.

He froze in horror.

His mother had her face skinned.

His father was skewered on swords.

He screamed — not in grief, but unchecked insanity.

And then he noticed his brother was still breathing.

His rage turned cold.

His voice went to a whisper that was slightly demonic.

> "They've taken everything…"

>" I shall offer them a revenge blacker than even death!"
