The figure floating before them emanated an oppressive aura, one that twisted the very currents around it. Though it made no aggressive move, Yu Fan instinctively raised a water-blade talisman.
> "Careful," Bai Qing whispered. "That thing… it's alive, but not breathing."
Lin Ho's gaze remained fixed on the mask of bone and coral. The figure's crimson robe drifted like blood in water, but its presence was still. Too still.
> "Who are you?" Lin Ho asked, his voice carrying through a Chaos-infused ripple of sound.
> "We were once many," the figure replied. "Now we are fragments. Bound by duty. Bound by fear."
> "Fear of what?"
> "You."
Silence.
Yu Fan shifted uncomfortably. "This thing's nuts. Let's just get what we need and get out."
> "We do not seek conflict," the figure said, turning slowly. "Follow, and see what your kind left behind."
With no warning, it slipped into the rift.
Lin Ho didn't hesitate. He followed.
Bai Qing swore softly. "This is insane."
> "Then I guess we're insane together," she muttered and darted after him. Yu Fan followed reluctantly.

Inside the Rift
The walls were ancient, covered in runes half-erased by the currents of time. Faint glimmers of spiritual energy echoed in the cracks. As they descended, they passed enormous skeletal remains — humanoid in shape, but with fins, horns, and triple-jointed limbs.
> "This place isn't natural," Bai Qing whispered.
> "It's older than natural," Lin Ho replied.
They reached a vast chamber — a dome of black stone lined with translucent crystals. At the center stood a monument: a tablet sealed by seven chains, each glowing with a different elemental hue.
The masked figure floated beside it.
> "Here lies what once brought ruin. A fragment of pure chaos. A source… like you."
Lin Ho stepped closer. The tablet pulsed. His Chaos Bloodline reacted — his veins lit with gold and black.
> "Why show me this?" he asked.
> "Because the seal weakens. And the others will come. You must choose — to awaken what sleeps, or to bury it deeper."
> "And if I awaken it?"
> "Then the war resumes."
Bai Qing grabbed his arm. "Lin Ho. Don't touch it."
Yu Fan added, "This isn't what we came for. Let's leave. Now."
Lin Ho stared at the tablet.
It pulsed again — and from within, a single whisper escaped:
> "Come home…"

Surface — One Hour Later
They breached the water with a surge of light. Luo Sen stood waiting, eyes scanning them carefully.
> "Report."
Lin Ho met his gaze. "Ruin site confirmed. One entity encountered. No conflict… but something's sealed down there."
> "And?"
> "It's not dead."
