Chapter-33 When Love Stands Tall

At the hospital, Arohi's friends—Dhroov, Shruti, and Pooja—came to visit her.

Dhroov: "We were so scared when we heard about what happened to you." Shruti: "We didn't even know for three days! When you and Nirvay sir didn't come, Neha ma'am finally told us. We were really worried about you, Arohi." Pooja: "We even called Nirvay sir, but he said you're doing better and that there were already too many people visiting. So he asked us to come a bit later." Arohi smiled warmly. "Thank you for caring so much. I'm really lucky to have made such amazing friends."

Dhroov: "Even Champak was asking about you! And between us, I prayed the most for your recovery." Arohi (laughing): "Yes, Dhroov! I think it's because of your prayers that I'm healing so quickly."

Shruti: "Of course! Dhroov has a direct line to God!" Everyone laughed together.

Pooja (a bit uneasy): "Do you know when Nirvay sir will return to the office?" Arohi looked concerned. "Tell me what's going on."

Dhroov: "Shreya ma'am is back. She's been sitting in Nirvay sir's cabin and making all the decisions." Shruti: "Dhroov! Why would you tell her that?" Arohi: "Wait… Shreya is using Nirvay's cabin?" Pooja nodded. "Yes, she is." Shruti: "We didn't want to stress you, but Dhroov can't keep secrets." Dhroov: "Hey! I care about Arohi too."

They spent some more time talking before saying their goodbyes.

A little while later, Nirvay arrived. Arohi noticed he looked visibly troubled.

Nirvay: "Let me feed you lunch." Arohi: "Why didn't you go to the office today?" Nirvay: "I'll go when you're fully recovered." Arohi (taking his hand): "I'm fine, Nirvay. My parents are here. I know how hard you've worked to bring your company back up. I don't want to be the reason for its downfall. If anything happens to the company because of me, I'll never forgive myself."

Nirvay: "Don't say that. You matter the most to me. Nothing else does."

Arohi (with tears in her eyes): "Thank you for loving me so deeply. That's why I don't want you to lose—not to anyone, not to Shreya. Go back to the office, please."

Nirvay: "Who told you about Shreya?"

Arohi: "Doesn't matter. What matters is that you go—right now."

Nirvay sighed, then nodded. "Alright, I'll go."

At the Office

Nirvay entered through the main gate. The staff gathered around him, welcoming him back. The MD handed him a detailed report—stocks were down, several deals had been canceled, and Shreya had been making decisions.

Without a word, Nirvay walked straight into his cabin.

Shreya: "Such a long time, Nirvay. How are you?" Nirvay: "What are you doing in my cabin?"

Shreya: "Is that how you greet a childhood friend?"

Nirvay: "Please leave."

Shreya: "I own 30% of this company. I won't let some girl destroy it."

Nirvay: "Where were you when this company was on the verge of bankruptcy?"

Shreya: "Your parents called me here because you've lost focus—spending your days in the hospital. What's so special about Arohi?"

Nirvay: "My personal life is not open for discussion. You may have shares, but I'll arrange a new cabin for you. Leave this one."

Shreya: "Fine. My parents will talk to yours now."

After she left, Nirvay called for an urgent meeting.

In the boardroom:

"I won't talk much. Just tell me—how long will it take to solve these issues?"

MD: "We'll work on it immediately."

Nirvay: "Good. You have two days. Work day and night. We'll meet again with investors and the board. I believe in you. Let's fix this—together."

All staff responded in unison, "Yes, sir!"

Later That Evening

At 5 PM, Nirvay's parents entered his cabin—along with Shreya and her parents.

Nirvay's father (angrily): "Have you lost your mind?!"

Nirvay (calmly): "Not yet. But I might."

His mother: "Where are your manners? You've been ignoring your duties for that girl!"

Shreya's father: "We trusted you. You disappointed us."

Nirvay's father: "Shreya will work in this office. I won't let you destroy this company."

Nirvay (firmly): "This company was nearly dead three years ago. I revived it—while studying, caring for Jai, and dealing with everything alone. Where were you all then? I built this. The name is yours, but the foundation is mine."

"As for Arohi—she isn't just important. She's everything."

Shreya: "She wasn't there for you before."

Nirvay: "Because you never let us breathe. She stayed away to protect me. Now she's with me, and she's staying."

Shreya's mother: "She's a burden now."

Nirvay: "Now I know who Shreya takes after."

His father: "She won't be accepted into this family."

Nirvay: "Family? This is news to me. My only family is Jai and Arohi. Accept it or not—I don't care."

His mother: "Shreya is beautiful, educated, owns a company—perfect."

Nirvay: "Then why do I feel suffocated around her? Arohi gives me peace."

He stood. "You may leave now—or would you prefer tea and snacks first?"

Everyone left angrily.

Back at the Hospital

At 9 PM, Nirvay returned to the hospital.

Arohi's mother: "Beta, go to your flat and rest. We're here."

Nirvay: "I'm fine, aunty. Please go get proper rest. I'll stay with Arohi tonight."

Her father joined in: "Go home and sleep properly. We'll stay."

Nirvay: "If I go home, I won't sleep. At least here I'll feel close to her. My driver will drop you off."

Eventually, they agreed.

In Arohi's room:

Nirvay (hugging her gently): "I'm so tired."

Arohi (stroking his hair): "Because of me?"

Nirvay: "No, I come to you to forget my tiredness."

Arohi: "My mom and dad are fond of you now. Even bhaiya didn't say anything."

Nirvay: "Your brother thanked me. I guess I'm just that likable."

Arohi: "He saw how much you care. That's why."

Nirvay: "Did you take all your medicine and eat properly?"

Arohi: "Yes, now you go eat too. I know you haven't yet. And rest."

Nirvay: "I love you."

Arohi: "I love you too. Thank you for making me feel so special."

He kissed her forehead and walked into the next room to sleep.
