How far can someone go in search of freedom? Seven knew. How much can a child endure—humiliation, beatings, electric shocks, hunger, being treated like garbage? Seven knew. He endured it all, bled, cried, and nearly died to fool Papa, the scientists, and the soldiers. He made them believe he was weak, insignificant, a nobody.
Seven truly wasn't strong, far from it, but his powers did much more than he ever let them know. He manipulated them, let them underestimate him, see him as harmless. Because he knew better than anyone that he would never leave those white walls. His fate there was to die like a lab rat, never knowing the warmth of the sun. And then, when they least expected it, Seven struck—leaving a massacre behind.
It was finally over now, right? He had achieved his freedom. But the answer was no. Because by leaving hell behind, Seven didn’t know that there was still a long road ahead before he could reach heaven.
