Synopsis

What if your very presence turned lies into a death sentence?

For Daniel Hori, a near-death encounter with a stranger leaves him forever changed—a strange power, or perhaps a curse, binds him.

He doesn't know when someone lies to him, but if they do, they’re doomed to face a punishment so horrifying it defies comprehension.

This boon pushes Daniel into a harrowing conspiracy: a brutal mafia who makes death look like mercy and cold case of homicide—a homicide fetished as suicide, happened the very year he was born.

As the corpses pile up and the lies unravel, Why does this boon feel so deliberate, so tailored to him? And why does every answer lead to even darker questions?

Now in this deadly riddle, Daniel navigates where truth and lies decides fate of man. The more he digs deeper in this rabbit hole, he uncovers twisted secrets. "Some truths were meant to stay buried—and some lies are deadlier than they seem."

I just finished Chapter 4, and I’m completely hooked! The premise—Daniel discovering that he can’t be lied to—is fascinating, and Zushe-sensei sets it up with real emotional impact. Daniel’s past trauma and his reactions to harsh truths feel raw and relatable. I especially love those tense “truth-telling” moments; hearing everyone speak their truths is just brutal, as you mentioned, yet absolutely gripping. So far, the writing is sharp, and each chapter ends on a note that compels me to read just one more. It’s a dark, urban twist on the mystery/action genre that balances character development and plot beautifully. I’m genuinely curious about how the cold case murder ties into Daniel’s history. Keep it up, author—I can’t wait to see where this goes!

So far, the premise is great and that alone wants you to see how Daniel deals with the world with his past trauma, regrets, and newfound power. I mean, hearing everybody speak the truths is just brutal yk? That's why white lies exist! Keep going, author! I'll update my review when the book has more chapters
