Every Lie is paid with Truth

Daniel was sitting on the bed, and something inside of him snapped when he heard Cainan say…

"I took you to your room." Daniel jumped from his bed and knocked the bowl of soup from Cainan's hands.

"So, it was you! It was you, motherfucker!" He yanked him and dragged him out of the room.

"Brother, let go! What are you talking about? I don't know anything! Let me go!" Cainan was pleased, but Daniel had blood in his head.

He dragged him to the balcony just beside his room on the 2nd floor.

He threw him to the floor and closed the door behind him.

Daniel pulled him back and pushed him to the balcony's heavy railing. He put his hands on Cainan's neck and started choking him.

"Tell me! Tell me, you fucking bastard! Just for how long will you screw me over? You took everything from me, and now you tried to kill me! Tell me, you bastard, where is my money?"

Daniel was yelling at him; hearing the chaos, everyone ran outside and saw Cainan dangling on the railings. Their hearts sank.

"Daniel! Stop it, he is your brother!" Her mother cried her lungs out.

His father was halfway ready to go to work and came out with an open shirt. "Daniel, stop! What are you doing? What happened! Just stop it!"

"Hey, you! Stop it! Why are you always trying to ruin the family peace? Leave the boy alone!" Andrew yelled; the anger on his face was clear; it looked like he was ready to kill someone.

Elaine ran back inside and got to the door and started smacking the door. "Stop, Daniel, please. Are you still angry at him for the past?" Just stop it! It was our idea too! Please let him go, I beg you!" She cried.

"I always wanted to do this! Ever since the day you made a fool out of me! But I am over it now, and I am sure of one thing: if there is anyone in this family who can't see me happy, it is you! It's you, Cainan!" Daniel straightened his arms, making Cainan's neck and half of his torso dangle.

"I wish no one would lie to me," the words echoed inside Daniel like a bad dream.

The last night was still clear to him; he could still hear that voice clearly.

A faint hope was lighting up inside him; he thought maybe…maybe his words were true.

"I…didn't take…anything…from you!" Cainan said, with the words getting stuck with his breaths due to Daniel choking.

Daniel looked at his face…

A face of a liar: after all these years of getting lied to, deceived, backstabbed, and cheated, there was one thing Daniel learned: to read the face of a liar.

And Cainan's face wasn't one of them right now.

Daniel pulled him back and threw him on the floor.

"Even he lied! That bastard, whoever he was, even lied to me! Why! WHY ME! WHY, IT'S ALL ME!"

Cainan was lying on the floor, and Daniel kicked the fence in anger; little did he know the things were getting in place.

"Daniel, you fucking rascal, I'll kill you today!" Andrew took a breath of relief, and his face was bright red and eyes filled with anger.

"Listen, Daniel! Don't you ever put your hands on your brother ever again! And whatever money you are talking about—[NO ONE STOLE IT; NO ONE HAS ANY IDEA WHERE YOUR MONEY IS. ]"

"Brett," his father yelled from the ground. He took a breath of relief and looked at Daniel.

At that moment Daniel noticed something; he saw something he wanted to see…a face of a liar.

The heavy railings, which got loose because Daniel pushed Cainan on them, suddenly broke free from the walls of concrete. Standing below those railings was Brett.

In just a blink those railings fell on the face of Brett and crushed his skull and killed him on the spot.

The green grass under Brett's feet turned red, and his brains spilled on the flowerbed nearby.

Hearing the loud crash, Cainan opened the door and ran down with his mother and Andrew.

The moment they looked at Brett's lifeless body, their faces turned pale, screaming and crying as they ran to his corpse while Daniel's phone rang…

*Ring* *Ring* Ring

Daniel, who witnessed everything right before him, stood like someone pulled out a soul from him, awfully calm, his hands reaching to his pocket and picking up the phone.

"Your wish has been granted. I prayed to her that

None Shall Lie to You…" The same voice uttered in a whisper and the call ended.

"What? What—what is happening right now? Is this a joke? Dad? What happened to him? He was just here? What happened?

What happened?

How? How? How? How? How? How?" -

Daniel cried and grabbed his hair and started pulling, and suddenly his gaze met his mother's; her soulless eyes had only one thing…hatred.

Daniel ran from his house through the back door, running aimlessly while the scene of his father's death repeated before his eyes; he ran and ran and ran.

Until he collapsed in an alleyway.

Panting

"Why is this happening to me? Did I kill him? Was it me? How? Who the hell is this stranger? What should I do? Someone please help me, please help me." Daniel cried, grabbing his face, his heart pounding and breaths slipping away.

He cried so loudly, yet no one stopped to look at him, but he cried and cried…

Due to the fate of the dog, someone heard him…

"What do we have here?" A fat man and at least 10 more walked to Daniel.

Daniel raised his gaze and looked at them; it was the men of Mali.

They grabbed his hair and smacked him against the wall.

"We were just going to your house. Do you know how worried

Master was? He wanted to check on you personally, so he sent someone to find your address, but you found us!" The man punched him in the gut.

"Wait!" Daniel yelled while crying in pain.

"Oh yeah, don't worry, it was a simple greeting we give when we find someone was hidden from us. Now tell me,

Where is the money?" He grabbed Daniel's hair back and slapped him.

Daniel's body cried in pain; that punch in the gut almost made him hurl out his organs and broke his ribs.

"I- I-" Daniel knew that his father was the one who took the money, and even if he told them, there was no way he could get it back now… So he tried to lie to them….

but everything comes with a price—

"My father took it…" Only the truth came out of Daniel's mouth.
