We Can Get Married, But There Are Conditions.

Claire stared at Brentley in front of her, her beautiful eyes filled with nothing but disbelief. She never imagined that her fiance would turn out to be someone like Brentley.

Standing beside Claire, Erica was equally shocked, her pretty face frozen in surprise, her mouth agape, unsure of what to say. When Claire first learned that she suddenly had a fiance, she couldn't accept it for a long time. First of all, she didn't know the person at all. Why should she marry him?

What woman doesn't want to marry the person she truly loves? And in this day and age, who still has arranged marriages? So when Claire found out about this, she threatened to end her life rather than meet this so-called fiance.

But then her father revealed the truth. The Harris Family's company was in serious trouble and needed a large sum of money to stay afloat.

Mr. Harris had exhausted all options, searching through every bank and reaching out to friends and family, but he still couldn't gather the needed funds. If things continued this way, all of the Harris Family's businesses might go bankrupt, and Mr. Harris could end up in jail.

Just when Mr. Harris was about to lose all hope, a foreign company approached him, offering financial support to the Harris Family. The conditions were that the Harris Family had to give up fifty percent of their shares to the company and that Claire Harris had to marry Brentley!

That's how Claire suddenly became Brentley's fiancee.

After learning the reason behind it, Claire thought long and hard. She decided that if sacrificing herself could save the entire Harris Family, she was willing to make that sacrifice. After all, she couldn't bear to watch her family's company collapse or see her father sent to prison.

Moreover, Claire figured that since they specifically wanted her to marry Brentley, he must be a top-tier wealthy heir. Marrying him could greatly benefit the Harris Family's business.

Who would have thought that the person she was supposed to marry turned out to be a pauper! Claire had already abandoned her dreams of true love, seeking instead material comfort and stability for her family. But now, standing before her was Brentley, a man who could neither fulfill her material desires nor ensure a secure future for the Harris family. Claire couldn't understand why the foreign company had made such a demand.

Meanwhile, Brentley seemed lost in his own fantasies about Claire. Initially, he had no particular expectations about marrying her, but upon discovering that his fiancee was an absolute beauty, his thoughts quickly changed.

"Cousin, there's no way I can agree to you marrying someone like him. Let's go find Uncle right now and get to the bottom of this. Why would they want you to marry such a person?" Erica exclaimed, grabbing Claire's hand and pulling her towards the door. "No need to ask. I already know why," Claire replied calmly. She then walked over to Brentley and softly said, "You must be my fiance, right?"

"Uh, I guess so," Brentley stammered, scratching his head awkwardly.

"Let's sit down and talk," Claire suggested coolly.

Erica's face was filled with confusion and disbelief. "Cousin, what on earth do you have to talk about with this jerk? Are you seriously considering marrying Brentley?"

Erica didn't understand the situation with the Harris family, but Claire knew all too well. Her only option was to marry Brentley; otherwise, her father wouldn't receive the financial support from the foreign company.

So, even if Claire didn't want to marry Brentley, she couldn't walk away.

Moreover, Claire was a very clever woman. She had just thought it through: although Brentley wasn't some wealthy heir, as long as the Harris family could get through this tough period, they could still live well even if Brentley had no money.

Brentley had one major advantage in Claire's eyes: he seemed to be much easier to control compared to the usual rich heirs.

"Cousin, come home with me right now. I can definitely convince Uncle!" Erica couldn't bear to see her cousin marry Brentley and shouted with great emotion.

"No need, Erica," Claire replied calmly. She then elegantly sat down on a chair and pointed her slender, jade-like finger at the chair opposite her. "Brentley, have a seat."

Brentley hesitated for a moment before sitting down across from Claire.

"Your name is Brentley Carter, right?" Claire asked softly.

"Yes," he nodded lightly, his face unusually happy.

Seeing Brentley so happy, Claire's eyes filled with even more disdain. She spoke softly, "Brentley, you should be very clear about why I'm here to meet you today, right?"

"Yes, I understand," Brentley nodded again, as Mr. Griffin had already explained the Harris family's situation to him. "Since you understand, it makes things easier. I can agree to marry you!" Claire declared.

Claire's beautiful eyes were locked onto Brentley, and she spoke without a hint of hesitation. Brentley was stunned by her words. He had never expected Claire to agree to their marriage so readily.

According to the will, Brentley had to marry Claire Harris within two years without revealing his true identity.

Although Chairman Brown had used his financial support for the Harris family to pressure Claire into the engagement, it was merely to help Brentley and Claire establish a relationship. This didn't mean Claire had to marry Brentley, and even if she did, it didn't have to be within two years.

So Brentley had been worried about how to persuade Claire to marry him, especially since he couldn't reveal his identity. Without revealing his identity, Brentley was just a poor man who picked up trash.

No ordinary person would agree to marry him, let alone someone as exceptional as Claire Harris.

But Brentley never expected that upon their first meeting, Claire would agree to the marriage so directly. "Cousin, are you crazy? You're really going to marry someone like him?" Erica exclaimed, her big, watery eyes wide with shock. "Are you sure you want to marry me?"

Brentley asked softly, still in disbelief, as he looked at Claire.

"I can marry you, but I have a few conditions. As long as you can meet these conditions, we can get married anytime," Claire said slowly.
