Inside Jacques Bistro Restaurant.
Erica stared wide-eyed at her cousin beside her, her face filled with disbelief.
Her cousin had just mentioned that the person who booked the private room at the Restaurant wasn't her, but her fiance, whom she had never met. The hotel manager had said that the room was booked by Brentley.
"Could Brentley be your fiance?" Erica gasped, covering her small mouth in shock after realizing the situation. "This can't be..." Erica's cousin's eyes flashed with a hint of helplessness.
Although she had never met her fiance, she knew that the Harris Family was a well-known and respected family in Sunshire City. Being the only daughter of the Harris Family, how could her parents agree to marry her off to someone like Brentley Carter, an ordinary person? Even if she had to marry, it should be to a young man from a prominent family in Sunshire City, right?
"Let's go see what's going on!" Erica hesitated for a moment before grabbing the elegant woman's hand and heading towards the private room.
Colby and Ophelia watched the two women leave, their faces filled with confusion. They couldn't understand what was happening and why someone like Brentley, who was poor, had suddenly become a VIP at the Restaurant.
"Manager Morgan..." Colby stepped forward, wanting to inquire about the situation. But he didn't give Colby any face at all and turned away without a second glance.
In fact, it was already quite generous of him not to retaliate against Colby. After all, if it weren't for Colby and Ophelia fanning the flames earlier, he wouldn't have offended Brentley in the first place.
Claiming that the chairman of Jacques Bistro Restaurant was a good-for-nothing was the most ridiculous lie he had ever heard in his life.
"Honey, what's the deal with this Brentley? How could he possibly afford to eat at a place like this?" Ophelia asked Colby with a frown.
"Brentley must have tricked Manager Morgan somehow. We both know Brentley. Even if he won the lottery, he probably spent most of it last time at the Prosperity Grand Hotel. There's no way he can afford to dine here!" Colby replied through gritted teeth.
"Should we go and explain the situation to Manager Morgan?" Ophelia suggested, still unwilling to let Brentley stay there.
"I think Brentley is in cahoots with Manager Morgan. Talking to Manager Morgan won't help!" Colby recalled Manager Morgan's attitude towards him earlier. He knew that since he wasn't a member of Jacques Bistro Restaurant, his words carried no weight, so it would be pointless to try.
"Sigh..." Ophelia couldn't help but sigh softly at Colby's words.
"Don't worry. A loser will always be a loser. Sooner or later, he'll slip up, and we'll be there to watch the show," Colby said, glancing at Ophelia.
"So, what do we do now?" Ophelia asked hesitantly.
"My friends should be arriving soon. Let's go," Colby replied.
Colby glanced at his phone and responded indifferently.
A few seconds later, Colby and Ophelia left the place with disappointed looks on their faces.
Meanwhile, Erica and her cousin rushed back to the private room they had been in earlier. As soon as they entered the room, they froze in place, their expressions filled with shock. Because Brentley was actually sitting inside the room.
Seeing the two of them enter, Brentley's eyes flashed with helplessness. He couldn't help but stand up and say, "Miss, what do you want from me? Yesterday, you bumped into me, and I only fell on you because you pulled me down. Today, I accidentally spilled water on your face, and I already apologized. What more do you want?"
At that moment, all Brentley could think about was meeting his fiancee, so when he saw Erica entering into the private room, he assumed she was still out to cause trouble. "You... why are you in this room?" Erica asked, staring at Brentley.
"This is the room I booked, of course I'm in here!" Brentley answered, slightly confused. "No, I mean, why did you book this room?" Erica asked, her expression still one of shock.
"Booking a room is for eating, obviously!" Brentley didn't want her to know he was here to meet his fiancee, fearing she would cause another scene.
"Are you here to meet someone?" the elegant woman, who had been silent until now, suddenly asked him. Brentley was momentarily taken aback by the elegant woman's words. He nodded slightly and said, "Yes, I'm here to meet someone."
"Is the person you're meeting named Claire Harris?" the elegant woman asked, stepping forward.
"How... how did you know that?" Brentley was stunned, his face filled with disbelief. Erica and her cousin exchanged a glance, their expressions filled with helplessness. They both knew that Brentley was the fiance Claire was supposed to meet today!
"Cousin, your... your fiance is really this jerk?" Erica stammered, addressing Claire Harris.
Claire Harris stood there, stunned, with a bitter smile on her face.
Although Claire wasn't someone who judged people based on wealth, she had no good impression of Brentley based on her cousin Erica Harris's previous descriptions. Naturally, she was very resistant to the idea that Brentley being her fiance.
"What are you two talking about?" Brentley asked, his expression uncertain after hearing Claire and Erica Harris's conversation.
Claire and Erica stood there, not knowing how to express their feelings.
"Say something! How did you know I was here to meet Claire Harris?" Brentley stepped forward and asked again. Claire looked at Brentley, hesitated for two seconds, and then bit her red lip before softly saying, "Because I am the person you were supposed to meet!"
Upon hearing this, Brentley felt a buzzing sound in his head, followed by a complete blankness. Before meeting Claire Harris, Brentley had always fantasized about what his fiancee might look like and what her personality might be like.
But Brentley never imagined that his fiancee would turn out to be a stunning beauty.
First, he inherited a fortune worth trillions, and now he was also getting a gorgeous wife. Brentley felt like everything happening to him was like a dream, so unreal it was almost frightening!
