Phoebe Is In Trouble!

When Brentley saw the young man in Phoebe's room, he couldn't help but freeze for a moment. He knew very well that Phoebe was supposed to be on a date with the hacker today. The fact that there was an unfamiliar young man in her room now meant that this guy was likely the one who had stolen his account.

The young man wasn't particularly handsome, but his attire suggested he was well-off. He wore a Givenchy T-shirt and an Hermes belt. Brentley couldn't identify the brands of his pants and shoes, but they looked expensive.

In contrast, Brentley was still wearing the outfit Ophelia had bought him from a street market years ago. The sleeves and collar were starting to show signs of wear and tear from being worn for so long.

Compared to the young man in Phoebe's room, Brentley looked like night and day. Even an idiot could tell who the real rich kid was.

Brentley hesitated for a moment, then reached for his phone to take a picture of the young man. He planned to ask Logan to investigate and help him recover his account.

But just as Brentley took out his phone, Phoebe suddenly turned her head towards the door. To avoid being caught, Brentley quickly put his phone away.

"Brentley, you're back!" Phoebe greeted him warmly.

"Yeah..." he nodded slightly without saying much.

The young man in the room also froze for a moment when he saw him, then quickly stood up and asked Phoebe with a smile, "Phoebe, is this your friend?"

"Yes, this is Brentley Carter, a friend and neighbor I told you about!" Phoebe replied cheerfully. She then walked over to Brentley and whispered, "Brentley, this is the guy I mentioned before, the one who goes by 'Gone with the wind.' We just had dinner, and he brought me back."

Upon hearing this, Brentley was now 100% certain that the young man standing next to Phoebe was the one who had stolen his account.

The young man seemed unaware that he was actually the real "Gone with the Wind." With a cheerful smile, he extended his right hand towards Brentley and softly said, "Hello!"

Brentley glanced at the young man's outstretched hand but didn't shake it. Instead, he turned to Phoebe and said, "I have something to take care of. I'll be leaving now."

With that, he turned and walked straight into his room.

Facing someone who had stolen his account and was planning to use it for deceit, Brentley naturally had no intention of being friendly. He planned to wait until the young man left to get some information about him from Phoebe, and then have Logan track him down. Given Logan's skills, retrieving his account from the young man would be a piece of cake.

As for whether Phoebe would realize she had been deceived, Brentley no longer cared. He had already explained the situation to her, but since she didn't believe him, he didn't see the point in continuing to explain.

Seeing Brentley actually return to his room, a flash of dissatisfaction crossed the young man's eyes. Phoebe, on the other hand, looked extremely embarrassed. She apologized to the young man, "Kirk, I'm really sorry. Brentley is just like that. Please don't mind him..."

Kirk quickly put on a gentlemanly smile and softly said, "Phoebe, do you think Brentley likes you?"

"He likes me?" Phoebe looked puzzled.

"Yeah, maybe Brentley likes you, and that's why he misunderstood our relationship when you brought me to your place. That's probably why he acted that way towards me!" Kirk said with a cheerful smile.

"Stop joking around. Brentley and I are just friends. There's no way he likes me. And even if he did like me, I... I..." Phoebe trailed off.

Phoebe didn't finish her sentence, but her meaning was crystal clear—she could never fall for him.

It wasn't because he was poor. In fact, Phoebe had initially found him quite likable. He had a good personality and decent looks, just a bit short on money. But Phoebe wasn't the type to overlook financial stability.

It was precisely because of this slight fondness that Phoebe had invited Brentley to live with her. However, after the events of yesterday and today, Phoebe found Brentley to be petty and small-minded. She believed his attitude towards Kirk comes from jealousy over his good looks and wealth. As a result, her impression of Brentley dropped rapidly. Forget about liking him; she wasn't even sure she could continue interacting with him as she had before.

"What do you mean by 'also'?" Kirk asked with a cheerful grin.

"Nothing... nothing at all," Phoebe replied lightly, then shut the door and led Kirk back to the couch.

The two seemed unaffected by the situation with Brentley, continuing their conversation happily. Phoebe's initial fondness for Brentley had completely vanished, while her affection for Kirk grew stronger. Compared to Brentley, Kirk was handsome, wealthy, gentlemanly, and polite—qualities Brentley couldn't match.

Meanwhile, Brentley, back in his room, took out his phone and called the customer service of the live-streaming platform, trying to recover his account. Unfortunately, when he registered, he hadn't provided a phone number or email. Now, Kirk had already bound the account to his own phone number, leaving Brentley with no way to retrieve it.

After struggling for a while, Brentley decided to give up on recovering the account. Instead, he planned to wait until Kirk left, then ask Phoebe about his identity and get Logan to step in.

In the blink of an eye, over ten minutes had passed, and Brentley, who was lying on the bed quietly waiting, started to feel drowsy.

Bang! Suddenly, a loud noise echoed from the hallway.

"Ahhh!" It was immediately followed by a scream from Phoebe.

Brentley shot upright as soon as he heard Phoebe's scream.

"Damn it, something's happened to Phoebe!"

His heart raced with worry, and he quickly put on his shoes and dashed out of the room.

Brentley had been uncomfortable leaving the young man alone with Phoebe. He suspected that Kirk, unable to control his desires, might try to force himself on her and if she refuse him, he might resort to violence.
