Volume 1, Chapter 181: Celestial Oddity

"What do you want me to do for you?"

Lin Yu frowned at Asang. He wasn't from the Pure Land—was he supposed to return there and fight those fake monks? Besides, as a Void Transformation Realm Level 1 warrior, he couldn't change much even if he went.

"Ayun and I found Taibai Meteor Gold in this mountain range. The monks' golden bodies are invulnerable, so it's hard to wound them. But Taibai Meteor Gold is incredibly sharp; the Great Elder said weapons forged from it can ignore their golden bodies. Our main mission here is to find it."

Asang looked at Lin Yu earnestly, even revealing the treasure without fearing he'd steal it. This showed their simplicity and lack of suspicion.

"Taibai Meteor Gold? They found this treasure? Kid, if the Wind Control Sword incorporates Taibai Meteor Gold, you could slay a Void Transformation Realm Level 2 warrior without even using your strongest Wind Sword Intent!" Lord Cauldron perked up, highly interested.

"So powerful? How does it compare to Wind Spirit Meteor Gold?"

"Wind Spirit Meteor Gold enhances the sword's speed; Taibai Meteor Gold boosts its sharpness. They complement each other. Agree to help, but demand a share." Lord Cauldron urged with a chuckle.

Lin Yu nodded. "I'll help, but I want a portion of the Taibai Meteor Gold."

"No problem!" Ayun agreed before Asang could speak.

"By the way, what trouble did you encounter?"

Asang smiled bitterly. "A demonic beast guards the Taibai Meteor Gold. We can't get close."

"Demonic beast? Take me to see it."

Lin Yu laughed. Asang and Ayun were Myriad Manifestation Realm Level 9—if a beast stumped them, it must be Void Transformation Realm. He could both claim the gold and slay the beast for Lord Cauldron to devour.

Asang and Ayun led him toward the gold. "Master Lin, the Taibai Meteor Gold is ahead. We can see it from that peak." Ayun pointed in the night. "The beast guards the foot of the mountain. We've watched for days but can't steal the gold."

"Doesn't the beast need to hunt?" Lin Yu frowned. Demonic beasts craved flesh—why forsake food for meteor iron?

"See for yourself, Master Lin." Asang's dark skin glowed in the moonlight. "You might not believe it, but the beast feeds on Taibai Meteor Gold."

"A beast that eats meteor gold?" Intrigued, Lin Yu hurried to the peak, ready to strike if Asang and Ayun meant harm.

Reaching the summit, he looked into the valley and saw a silver glint reflecting moonlight from a rock, beside which lay a massive beast. Its scales shimmered silver, as if forged from metal.

"Let's go meet it." Lin Yu smiled, leaping down like a shooting star. Asang and Ayun followed.

Bang!

His landing shook the ground, dislodging rocks and awakening the beast. It emerged from the shadows, growling to warn him off.

"Eh?" Lin Yu marveled at the beast—a giant tiger with saber-like fangs and seven spiky bones on its back, all gleaming silver in the moonlight. "What kind of demonic beast is this?"

"Probably a saber-toothed tiger, but what's with the back bones?" Lord Cauldron mused. "Look at the debris around its mouth—does it resemble the rock it's guarding?"

Lin Yu saw the debris shimmered like the Taibai Meteor Gold. "It's a mutated saber-toothed tiger, likely transformed by devouring Taibai Meteor Gold. See how its fangs and bones resemble swords? That's the gold's sharpness manifesting."

"Whatever it is, kill it." Lin Yu told Asang and Ayun, "Stand back to avoid the fight." Confident in slaying this Void Transformation Realm Level 1 beast.

"Be careful, Master Lin—this beast is fierce!" Asang warned before retreating with Ayun.

The saber-toothed tiger roared, sending tangible sound waves and Void Transformation Realm pressure. Warriors below Void Transformation Realm might die from the威压 alone. But the waves vanished before Lin Yu.

He flicked a Finger of Fire Intent. The tiger charged the flaming red beam fearlessly.

Bang!

The Fire Intent struck its head, but silver scales glowed, snuffing the flames. The attack only chipped a few scales. "Incredible defense!" Lin Yu frowned—it had withstood his Fire Intent.

As the Fire Intent faded, the tiger lunged, fangs glowing with piercing silver light.
