Volume 1, Chapter 182: Mutated Demonic Beast

With a thought, Lin Yu summoned the Wind Control Sword before him. Billows of blue light surged along the blade, forming a flowing stream that slashed toward the charging saber-toothed tiger.

The tiger roared, silver light erupting from its fangs as it charged the sword.

Boom!

The blue blade light flashed, dimming the silver glow on the tiger's fangs. Its massive body was hurled backward, crashing to the ground. Lin Yu's strike left a seven-foot gash, blood pouring from the wound. The Water Sword Intent, channeled through the Wind Control Sword, had finally pierced its defense, grievously wounding the beast.

"Eh? Its fangs aren't broken?" Lin Yu exclaimed as the staggering tiger bared its still-glinting fangs. The Wind Control Sword, a Void Transformation Realm treasure, hadn't even scratched them—how hard were they?

"Kid, what are you thinking? This tiger must have devoured Taibai Meteor Gold, making its fangs as sharp as divine weapons. Its fangs and back bones are perfect sword materials—just add Taibai Meteor Gold, and they'll form Void Transformation Realm swords!" Lord Cauldron explained with a laugh.

"Does that mean slaying this beast lets us forge nine Void Transformation Realm swords from its fangs and bones?" Lin Yu eyed the tiger eagerly—it now looked like a walking sword tomb.

Standing, the tiger eyed Lin Yu with fear, sensing death. But greed for the Taibai Meteor Gold overcame terror. Roaring, it charged again, fangs and bones ablaze with silver light, hurtling like a silver comet. The sharpness ahead shredded valley rocks to dust. Asang and Ayun, behind Lin Yu, were forced back by the lethal aura.

"Master Lin, be careful!" Asang called, worried despite knowing his strength.

"Since it won't abandon the gold, it shall die with it." Lin Yu smiled coldly. *Men die for wealth, birds for food*—the tiger fell to greed.

Killing intent flaring, he sent the Wind Control Sword flying. Thunder and Fire Sword Intent merged into a roaring storm, crashing into the tiger.

Boom!

The storm shattered the tiger's silver light. Blade light flashed, red flames surged across its body, and a silver thunderbolt pierced its brow scales, annihilating its soul. The tiger flew dozens of zhang, struggled vainly, and fell still.

Asang and Ayun stared in awe. The invincible tiger had fallen effortlessly—only their tribe's Great Elder matched this power.

Lin Yu approached, extracting the fangs and back bones. Untouched by his sword, they needed only polishing to become Void Transformation Realm weapons. Infused with Taibai Meteor Gold, they'd let Myriad Manifestation Realm Level 9 warriors slay Void Transformation Realm Level 1 foes. With its fangs, bones, and ironclad defense, the tiger had rivaled a Void Transformation Realm Level 2 beast.

Stowing the fangs and bones, he walked to the Taibai Meteor Gold. Asang and Ayun hovered nearby, excited. Most of the gold remained embedded in rock, only a sliver gleaming silver in the moonlight—the tiger had mutated by consuming it.

Lin Yu struck the rock with a flaming palm, melting it to reveal the gold: watermelon-sized, silver-white, and exuding a sharp aura that pricked their skin like needles. He swung the Wind Control Sword, splitting the gold into two pieces—70% and 30%.

"I'll take 70%, you 30%—any objection?" He picked up the larger piece.

"No! We're grateful for 30% just for providing the tip." Asang held the smaller piece, satisfied. Ayun nodded: "We couldn't have taken it without you—we ask for nothing more."

"Good. Wait outside the valley—I have gifts for you."

Once they left, Lin Yu summoned Lord Cauldron, which devoured the tiger, then melted the Taibai Meteor Gold, sword, fangs, and bones together. Soon, the materials formed swords: the Wind Control Sword now shimmered with silver moonlight, its edge able to cut through anything. Lin Yu could now face Void Transformation Realm Level 3 warriors.

Stowing the sword, he left the valley.

"Master Lin..." Asang and Ayun greeted respectfully, their admiration sincere.
