Chapter 4766: The Time Has Come
"It was just that the time hadn't come before," Ding Yun stared coldly at Madam Long.
"And now, clearly, the time has come."
A rare flicker of panic crossed Madam Long's face.
Her gaze followed Ding Yun's raised arm, moving back and forth. She opened her mouth, and seeing that he was about to carelessly bring the whip down again, she quickly shrieked, "Long, Long Yun, you, let's talk this out properly."
Crack! The wood spirit whip in Ding Yun's hand mercilessly lashed across the woman's fair, smooth cheek.
"Ah!" With that strike, Madam Long was both shocked and enraged. She frantically raised a hand to cover her face in terror.
"If Madam Long's memory is failing, I wouldn't mind reminding you again," Ding Yun looked at her indifferently. "Madam, it's better if you call me Ding Yun. I'm not accustomed to hearing others call me a strange name."
Madam Long's face was severely contorted, her eyes filled with venomous light, staring fixedly at Ding Yun.
"Ding Yun!"
Ding Yun smiled, curving his thin lips, and nodded. "Madam, if you have any questions, go ahead and ask."
Madam Long gritted her teeth, clenching her back molars tightly, and remained silent.
"Since Madam has nothing good to say, then how about I speak?"
Long Chuyu finally began to grasp what was happening.
It seemed his son's purpose in coming here was to settle accounts with Madam Long?
But what he didn't understand was, his son had grown up with Ding Ziyan and had never known his own lawful wife. Where did this inexplicable hatred come from?
Could it be that Ding Ziyan often mentioned them to their son in daily life?
Long Chuyu was utterly perplexed.
Ding Yun couldn't be bothered with more nonsense with Madam Long and went straight to the point, "Watching your own son and daughter having to go to a barren place like Forgetful River Cold Valley, unable to leave the valley for a hundred years—doesn't that feel very heartbreaking?"
"What exactly do you want to say?!" Madam Long glared angrily at the man before her, shouting sharply, "Ding Yun, don't think of trying to trick information out of me; it's utterly useless."
"Self-righteous," Young Master Ding scoffed coldly at her. "Why would I need to trick information out of someone who's about to die?"
"If I want to know something, wouldn't it be faster to directly search your soul?"
Madam Long shuddered, her face filled with shock as she looked up at Young Master Ding.
The latter, however, smiled courteously at her, saying softly, "Don't worry, I won't kill you for now."
"There are some things I want to clarify with you. This matter is known only to you." As for whether he would conveniently take her life after getting his answers, that would depend on his mood.
Madam Long sneered, "If you ask, must I tell?"
Having said that, she felt a hand, hard as iron, clamp down firmly on her throat.
Ding Yun smiled as he looked at her, his eyes filled with ruthless coldness. "If you don't speak, you won't even have a chance to see your children one last time."
"What do you mean??"
"Still don't understand, Madam?" Ding Yun looked at her with utter indifference. "Do you think I'm just here to surround and annihilate your Forgetful River clan territory, these remaining old, weak, women, and children?"
Long Chuyu's pupils constricted. He suddenly roared, "Yun'er, you sent people to deal with Hui'er and Xiangyun too??"
"Father is still sharp," Ding Yun smiled and nodded. "You catch on quickly."
"You, you!" Madam Long gasped, finally managing to shriek, "You, you demon, you, ah..."
