Chapter 5326: Disposal
"Madam Lin burst into my princely manor, not only loudly reprimanding my concubine but also speaking disrespectfully to me! Today truly has been an eye-opener!"
Cold sweat poured down Master Lin's forehead. He quickly bowed and repeatedly said, "Your Highness, please forgive her, please forgive her."
"Madam has been extremely anxious with worry for her daughter these past days and is somewhat disoriented. I will take her back now and ensure she is strictly disciplined."
Mo Xikang cast a cold glance at Master Lin and his wife, then turned to the trembling Madam Liang. "Mother, you and Wan'er return to your rooms first."
"Good, good," Madam Liang was already terrified. She was naturally timid, and having been startled by Madam Lin's erratic shouting, her legs were now trembling uncontrollably. Seeing her son tell her to return to her room, she immediately nodded and, without a word, helped Madam Lin leave together.
Madam Lin, however, was clearly somewhat unwilling. She wanted to stay and watch what fate awaited that old hag. All day long, she'd put on airs as the legitimate mother. Madam Lin had already married into Prince Zheng's manor and become the Prince's woman, yet this old woman still dared to be so arrogant and domineering towards her. She deserved whatever severe punishment the Prince would inflict upon her.
"Master Lin, it's not convenient to speak here. Take your wife and follow this Prince." Mo Xikang turned and left, his face clouded with gloom.
Master Lin's face instantly went pale. He nervously mumbled an agreement, trembling as he led his wife to a small room in the side hall.
"Madam Lin, how did you know that this Prince has the ability to rescue Miss Lin?" Mo Xikang asked, his expression calm. "Do you know into whose hands your daughter fell?"
Madam Lin nodded repeatedly. "It was those fanatics from Heavenly Fate who took my daughter. I implore Your Highness to save our Miao'er. For Your Highness, it would just be a simple matter."
"Oh?" Mo Xikang's eyes flickered slightly, then he suddenly asked with a light laugh, "How does Madam Lin know that helping Heavenly Fate release Miss Lin is a simple matter for this Prince?"
Madam Lin was slightly stunned. She turned to see her husband's darkened face and stammered, afraid to speak.
"So, it seems Madam Lin is well aware that this Prince has a close relationship with Heavenly Fate."
Madam Lin stiffened, then nodded her head, forcing a dry laugh. "Our master said that Your, Your Highness is a man of great capability."
"Master Lin, you truly dare to say anything in front of your wife."
Master Lin felt a chill throughout his body and quickly said, "Your Highness, please calm your anger. Heaven and earth can attest, the sun and moon can bear witness. Your subordinate holds nothing but sincerity towards Your Highness and would never easily relay Your Highness's affairs to others."
"As for why my wife knows, it's probably because she overheard it."
"Oh?" Mo Xikang scoffed coldly, then nodded. "To overhear such a confidential matter from Master Lin, your wife is truly quite remarkable."
He rose and walked away, leaving behind a faint remark, "I don't want anyone to know my identity for now."
Master Lin gritted his teeth, his hands trembling slightly.
Madam Lin looked bewildered as she turned back. "Why did the Prince leave after only a few words? What's going on?!"
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her lower back. Madam Lin turned her head, utterly confused. She saw Master Lin slightly tilting his head, holding a trembling long sword in his hand. More than half of the sword's blade was embedded in her lower back.
