Chapter 135: A Jigglypuff Can't Sing

(One night in the desert, Mew and her friends are trying to look for the next town.)

(Since it's late in the night and they have been walking in the desert for some time, they are getting very tired.)

(Tomo yawns and says.)

Tomo: "Mew, Tomo feels tired."

Mew: "Don't worry, Tomo. I'm sure the next Town will be soon,"

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to Brock.)

Mew: "So where's that town you were talking about, Brock?

Misty: "It's dark already. You don't think we're gonna camp out in a place like this, do you?"

(Misty replies, feeling tired.)

Brock: "Chill out. It's gotta be around here, somewhere,"

(Brock says.)

(After traveling up another dune, they see a city that is full of bright lights.)

(Mew happily says.)

Mew: "Wow! That must be it!"

(Mew and her friends walk into the city and look around to see lights, people, and activities all round.)

Mew: "Look at all the lights!"

(Mew says, amazed.)

Misty: "Wow! It sure is bright!"

(Misty says.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu," (It sure is.)

(Pikachu says.)

(Tomo says.)

Tomo: "And lively."

Eevee: "Eevee." (Very lively.)

(Eevee replies.)

Brock: "I knew it! This is Neon Town!"

(Brock says.)

(Neon Town is where the group ends up.)

(There's a casino game, and someone loses.)

(As the gang walks around the city, Brock says.)

Brock: "People love to come here because it's open all day and all night!"

Misty: "It never closes?"

(Misty asks.)

Brock: "There's action twenty-four hours a day!"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "Wow!"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "It's amazing, but twenty-four hours a day. When do they sleep?"

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, Mew ends up bumping into someone with black hair and wears a black vest.)

(The man angrily turns to Mew.)

man: "Hey! Watch where you're going, you jerk!"

(Mew turns to the man and says.)

Mew: "Sorry about that, but um, there's no need for you to shout. Again, sorry for bumping into you."

man: "Ah whatever,"

(The man says and walks off.)

(Misty says.)

Misty: "That guy was a little crabby."

(Just then, Officer Jenny rises over on her motorbike to see there hasn't been any trouble.)

(She asks.)

Officer Jenny: "You all okay?"

Mew: "We're okay. We just got into town and we're trying to find a place to stay for the night,"

(Mew says.)

Officer Jenny: "There's a hotel down the street and then make a right. You better find one quick person around here who is pretty short tempered!"

(Officer Jenny says, sounding on edge herself.)

Mew: "Short tempered?"

(Mew says, confused.)

Officer Jenny: "They're on edge because they stay out all night and don't get enough sleep and cause fights around every five minutes and I always have to put a stop to it,"

(Jenny says, sounding irritated.)

Mew: "That doesn't sound healthy at all,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "And it must be putting a lot of stress on you. Even you can't get any sleep,"

(Misty replies.)

Officer Jenny: "I hear you kid. They stay up late and cause all kinds of ruckus. It's even putting me on edge, If I were you, I would get to the hotel, get some sleep, and get out of town as soon as possible,"

(Jenny says.)

(Suddenly, Jenny hears another fight going on.)

Officer Jenny: "There's another one."

(Then speeds off on her motorbike.)

Mew: "Poor Officer Jenny,"

(Mew says, concerned.)

Brock: "Yeah. She looks very stressed out,"

(Brock says.)

(Just then, Tomo lets out a yawn and he's getting very sleepy.)

(Misty turns to Tomo.)

Misty: "Looks like Tomo is very sleepy.

Mew: "Let's find a hotel and get some sleep,"

(Mew says, and picks Tomo up in her arms.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket have arrived at Neon Town themselves.)

Meowth: "I just love all these bright lights,"

(Meowth says.)

(Then James bumps into the same man Mew has bumped into earlier.)

(James angrily turns to the man.)

James: "Watch where you're going!"

(The man then jumps on James.)

man: "Oh yeah?!"

(Then smacks him on the head.)

man: "You bump into me and then you start complaining?!"

Jessie: "You walked into him!"

(Jessie angrily says.)

(Soon, someone bumps into Jessie.)

(Jessie looks up and becomes scared to see the woman is larger than she is.)

woman: "That hurt. I'll make you pay for that!"

(The woman says in rage.)

(Soon Jessie is getting smacked by the woman.)

(as James is still being attacked by the man.)

(leaving Meowth to watch in shock.)

(Meowth panics.)

Meowth: "I think we should prepare for trouble!"

(The next day, Mew and her friends walk out of the hotel after getting a good night's sleep.)

(However, they walk out to see people still bickering and fighting with one another.)

Misty: "I don't believe it, everyone in town's already awake,"

(Misty says, surprised.)

Mew: "Look at em!"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "People fight,"

(Tomo comments.)

Brock: "I wonder when they sleep,"

(Brock wonders.)

(Soon, they see Officer Jenny approaching the groups and get them to stop fighting.)

(Mew says to her friends.)

Mew: "Let's just keep moving."

Misty: "Yeah, this place makes me nervous,"

(Misty says.)

(Agreeing to the idea, the group decides to leave Neon Town.)

(and now inside a nice quiet forest.)

(Misty happily highs.)

Misty: "It's much nicer here in the woods where it's quiet."

Mew: "Yeah, it was so loud in Neon Town I couldn't get any sleep,"

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, they notice a Pokemon up ahead and it's standing on a stump.)

(It's a pink Pokemon with a spherical body.)

(It has pointed ears with black insides and large, blue eyes.)

(It has small, stubby arms and slightly longer feet.)

Misty: "Hey! What's that?"

(Misty asks.)

(Then Brock says.)

Brock: "Isn't that a Jigglypuff?"

(Soon the group approaches the Pokemon as Jigglypuff turns to see them.)

Misty: "You're right, Brock. It is a Jigglypuff. I've always wanted one of those,"

(Misty happily says.)

Brock: "I thought you only like water Pokemon?"

(Brock asks.)

Mew: "Well, Misty did catch a Snover, and it's an ice type,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "She's right, and I like this one, too. I'll capture it!"

(Misty says.)

(She brings out her Pokeball and calls out.)

Misty: "Staryu, go!"

(However, Psyduck is the one who is sent out instead.)

(Misty scolds Psyduck.)

Misty: "Psyduck, I didn't want you!"

(Soon Psyduck becomes sad, and Misty calls it back.)

Misty: "Return!"

(Then Staryu comes out of the Pokeball.)

(Misty calls out.)

Misty: "Staryu, Double Edge!"

(Staryu strikes at Jigglypuff with Double Edge and the balloon Pokemon hits the tree.)

(and falls down causing it to tear up.)

Misty: "What's wrong?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "It looks like it's crying,"

(Mew replies.)

(Then Brock says.)

Brock: "Either way, there's something strange about it."

(Mew then brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokemon. A Normal and Fairy Type. It has large, friendly eyes and it sings a pleasant song."

Misty: "A Pokemon that sings? Ah, it's so cute! Sing for us."

(Misty happily says.)

(But the wild Jigglypuff turns away with a sad huff.)

Misty: "Please, sing us a song,"

(Misty begs.)

(Bug Jigglypuff doesn't sing and turns to Misty who is holding a smile.)

(Sadly, Jigglypuff kicks the stump a bit and looks very sad.)

(Misty asks.)

Misty: "Is something wrong?"

(Sadly Jigglypuff says.)

Jigglypuff: "Jiggly Jigglypuff Jigglypuff," (I can't sing. I don't know how.)

(Mew translates.)

Mew: "Jigglypuff said that it can't sing, and it doesn't know how."

Jigglypuff: "Puff puff." (Not at all.)

(Jigglypuff sadly says.)

Brock: "I see. A Jigglypuff that can't sing. So that's why it didn't attack,"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "Oh, I'm sorry I bothered you, little Jigglypuff,"

(Misty says.)

(Happy, Jigglypuff jumps into Misty's lap.)

(Then Misty has an idea.)

Misty: "Hey, maybe we can help teach Jigglypuff to sing."

Jigglypuff: "Jiggly?" (Really?)

(Jigglypuff asks, happily.)

Mew: "Good idea, we can't just leave it here alone,"

(Mew says.)

(Jigglypuff is so happy that she snuggles with Misty.)

(as Team Rocket spies on them from the bushes close by.)

(James says.)

James: "It looks like those kids found a Jigglypuff!"

Meowth: "A Jigglypuff?"

(Meowth replies.)

Jessie: "A Jigglypuff's songs have the power to put people to sleep,"

(Jessie says.)

(Soon, Meowth has an idea.)

Meowth: "Then I got a great idea! We get that Jigglypuff thing to sing to everybody in Neon Town, and when it does…"

Jessie: "It's nap time for Neon Town!"

(Jessie says.)

(Then James says.)

James: "And then we grab anything and everything we want!"

Meowth: "That'll teach em not to mess with us!"

(Meowth says.)

Jessie: "Finally, Team Rocket is about to enjoy the success we so richly deserve!"

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "Let's get on with it!"

(Meowth says.)

(Jessie and James say.)

Jessie and James: "Right!"
