Chapter 22: Loguetown

As the crew continued on their sailing, Kuro familiarized himself with the abilities of his Devil Fruit, the hybrid form of the Devil Fruit and its other abilities are suitable for his fighting style, it gave him the ability to turn his body into an invisible being like the paramecia fruit Suke Suke no Mi, he was also given sharp claw marks that were sharper than the current swords that he was using as claw marks, his strength also increased more than tenfold, it could generate lightning all over his body, where it can use to increase his speed and more importantly, it gives the user the ability to fly in hybrid and beast form.

Kuro practiced while they were sailing, as he would fly with the vision of Huginn and Muninn to various parts of the ocean. As he was practicing, Van Augur was also instructing Jango on how to fight, as both of them would spar against each other, Van Augur was teaching Jango how to take advantage of his natural sense of rhythm, as it was it would be incredibly useful in a fight.

Taiyo also taught Jango the dance fighting technique that he knew, it was similar to the fighting style of Eddie and Christina in the game that he was playing in his previous life, it was a chain of combosthath Jango managed to do easily, but the only problem is that there's not much strength behind his every strike, making Taiyo provide him a training method that would strengthen his overall body.

As days passed by with them continuing this routine, the four then arrived on another island, it was Polestar Island, a famous island in the One Piece world, it was here, where Loguetown was located, it was the town where the most infamous person in the whole sea was executed, and where the Golden Age of Piracy started.

As the crew disembarked the ship, they immediately went towards the town, where they divided into groups of two, with Van Augur and Taiyo exploring, and Jango and Kuro looking for supplies that they would need when they restarted their journey.

----------

When Taiyo and Van Augur were walking, Taiyo felt the presence of someone strong in the bar, while Van Augur just looked at Taiyo with curiosity, as they both went inside the bar, inside, there was a pile of corpses, with only one drinker and the bartender that had a terrified look on his face was seen, making Van Augur immediately point his rifle towards the remaining person that was drinking inside the bar, the clothing of the man was a strange one, he had a cane and a top hat with a scarf around his neck.

He was still drinking, while Taiyo sat by the side of the person who was drinking calmly, while Van Augur was still pointing his rifle towards the person.

"May I join you for a drink?" Taiyo said as he sat down, while he saw the half face of the person and recognized him.

"You can, but your companion seems to be quite rude," The gentleman said, as he looked at Van Augur, who was still aiming towards him.

"Augur, come here, this is a bar, let's have a drink," Taiyo said, encouraging Van Augur to put down his weapon, despite his initial reluctance, Van Augur put down his rifle and sat towards Taiyo's left side as they both ordered their drinks, while the bartender served them as he was shaking with fear.

"Say, how come a man like you, in a place like this?" Taiyo then decided to strike up a conversation with the gentleman.

"I was traveling and letting fate decide my destination, fate brought me here today, and of course, you to me," The gentleman answered, piquing the interest of Van Augur. It was similar to his philosophy, and it was also something that made him decide to join Taiyo on his journey.

"Since you believe in fate, I must ask, are you a navigator? We needed one," Taiyo then asked, despite knowing the answer already.

"I am, but what makes you say that I would join you?" The gentleman said that Taiyo, he was someone that was waiting for a special person, it was someone that had enough strength, ambition, and was led by fate, and from what he could see from Taiyo, it seems that he was only relying on the sniper for strength protection, he did not even detect a single hint of ambition with him, the only one that would qualify him is that he was led by fate, but that's only one in three criteria met.

"Well then, I guess our time isn't worth spending here, let's go, Augur," Taiyo said, as he paid his order and informed Van Augur, who directly finished his drink and started walking with Taiyo, as they were walking out, the gentleman suddenly attacked Taiyo while his back was turned towards him, but Taiyo moved in a manner that the gentleman did not even notice, his cane sword was disarmed, Taiyo managed to slash every part of his body without doing any significant damage, and his sword was at the neck of the gentleman.

"If you wanted to die, you should've just said so," Taiyo said towards the gentleman who had wide eyes as he was looking at Taiyo, the entire demeanor of Taiyo changed, from a peaceful-looking man, then now, he could see a beast that was waiting to be unleashed.

As Taiyo was tempted to end the life of the gentleman in front of him, he decided not to, as he could see the aura of the gentleman in front of him change from contempt to curiosity and excitement, Taiyo then sheathed his sword and started walking once again, while Van Augur, who was shocked with Taiyo's gesture of letting the opponent go, he did not question it in front of the said person, it would be a sign of distrust, something that he did not intend to do.
