Ethan noticed the greasy takeout Liam had brought. He looked genuinely surprised.
“There are many restaurants around this hospital with food suitable for patients. Yet you somehow managed to pick the absolute worst options. That’s impressive.”
I could see Liam clench his jaw. He was trying to contain his temper.
After a moment, he spoke in a low, menacing tone. “From now on, I’ll cook for Elara myself. There’s no need for you to get involved.”
Ethan, however, didn’t flinch. “I don’t trust you with that. I took good care of her, got her discharged in perfect health. Less than a day later, she miscarried. You have zero credibility.”
Liam’s brow furrowed. “Elara is my wife. Why are you so attentive? Don’t you understand the concept of keeping a respectful distance from a married woman?”
