Liam froze for a second. Then he dropped to his knees, his arms wrapping around me.
“How did you start bleeding just from a fall?”
I tried to stand, but a cold sweat broke out over my skin. My lips started to tremble.
“Call an ambulance! Get me to a hospital!”
Chloe pushed through the small crowd that had formed. “Stop being dramatic. It’s probably just your period”
She said I was overreacting. She suggested I go home and rest if I wasn’t feeling well.
Liam’s face was a mask of disappointment. “So, you’re not pregnant after all.”
I wanted to explain, but an intense wave of pain ripped through my core. It forced me to bite down on my lip to keep from screaming again.
In the end, Liam yanked me to my feet. He muttered that he would stay with Chloe. He’d call a car to take me home.
Just as the elevator doors opened, I came face-to-face with Ethan.
“Hey, what are you doing at a rooftop bar?” he asked, his expression surprised.
