Cade’s authority in the household was second only to Mr. Sterling Sr., and the aggressive warning in his eyes was enough to ensure that no servant would dare alert Julian to his actions.

He openly strode through the house with his supposed sister-in-law slung over his shoulder and kicked open the door to his own bedroom.

Aria’s eyes swept across the room and immediately landed on a photograph placed on the bedside table.

It was a picture taken on her eighteenth birthday.

In the photo, a woman who looked exactly like her was nestled against his shoulder, grinning with pure, unadulterated joy, while he appeared faintly aloof, as he always did, yet the gaze he directed at her was brimming with profound fondness.

For some reason, she was inexplicably drawn to the photograph, and sliding off his shoulder, she walked cautiously toward the bedside table to study the woman’s identity. Who was this person? who was her perfect double?
