Chapter 44

The morgue. The word sent a shockwave through Aria, and she nearly tripped and fell to the ground.

She ignored the sharp pain in her ankle and, using the wall for support, stumbled toward the end of the hall.

Her vision was blurred by a constant stream of tears, and just as she reached out to push open the heavy door to the morgue, she felt a sharp, stinging pain in her neck and collapsed into darkness.

When Aria woke up, it was already evening, and she found herself in a strange, unfamiliar room. She was dressed in a pristine white wedding gown, and a nearby mirror reflected her own face, adorned with flawless makeup.

A sharp pain shot through her head as she tried to remember how she got here. She remembered being on her way to the morgue to see Cade, so how did she wake up in this strange room, in this bizarre outfit?

Whatever the reason, Aria had no time to dwell on it. Her only thought was to find Cade.
