Aria was desperate to see Cade.
As she rushed out of her ward, she overheard two nurses whispering in a corner.
“Such a waste. He was so handsome, but he died so young.”
“I know, it’s a terrible tragedy. He was only about twenty-seven or twenty-eight. It was a horrible accident. He passed away before they could even get him into the operating theater.”
“I heard his family is incredibly wealthy. I guess all that money couldn’t save him.”
“Sigh. It’s so sad for such a handsome man to die like that. His wife was at the scene and fainted from the shock. They brought her here, but she hasn’t woken up yet.”
“What’s the point of her waking up, really? The first thing she’ll hear is that her husband is dead. How pitiful for her.”
As Aria listened to their conversation, her heart sank, piece by painful piece.
A handsome man, around twenty-seven, a wealthy family, a wife who fainted at the scene. Every detail pointed to Cade.
