"Tch." The mechanic clicked his tongue while seeing the information superimposed before his field of sight by his visor. Now that he had tested his attacks against an enemy, he could see that his MCR wouldn't hold out. He needed to make some upgrades to it if he wished to be able to properly fight because the reserve of Psionic energy that could be stored within the machine was really little.

Thankfully, he had anticipated this and had crafted some tools that would help him out during the weak stage of his growth. His hand rose once more, firing another Psion Blast that was blocked by his opponent's wall of flames. But Ezekiel used that time to move backwards, grabbing onto his suitcase and sticking his hand into it, bring out two spherical items that he didn't hesitate to throw at his assailants.

An explosion rang out as the items made contact with the assassin's fire wall, dispersing the spell with its force and releasing its shrapnel into the surroundings, one of such managing to cut at the Mage's skin.

The man winced, feeling the blood leaving the wound, before glaring at Ezekiel who simply replied to his anger with a raised middle finger. "Like my little gift?" The items were obviously grenades, created with substitute materials on Taia.

The Mage growled, placing his hands together as he chanted. "Listen to my call, o fiery Sun. Let your wrath fall upon my enemies. Flame magic: Fire arrows."

The mechanic smiled while seeing the multiple arrow shaped fire projectiles that appeared around the mage. He took out two more items from the suitcase, attaching them to his back. "Activate the magnet." His MCR released a slight hissing sound and the two spherical objects left his palm and stuck to the device like a magnet.

He then crouched, making sure to stand on his toes before breaking into a sprint. Psionic energy erupted at his soles, scorching the ground below him.

He dashed forward the next second, aided by the amethyst energy being ejected behind him to maneuver through the attacking flaming arrows that aimed for his life. Unfortunately that wasn't all the mage had in store for him.

The assailant clasped his hands together once more and began chanting. "O fiery Sun. Bless me with thy might so I may smite my enemies. Fire magic: Infernal Spear!" He pointed his finger, summoning a 5 meter wide spear of flames that ominously bore down on the dodging Ezekiel.

"Fuck." The mechanic staggered, slightly frightened by the heat that seared his skin. His movements grew disoriented, allowing a fire arrow to strike at him. Luckily, he managed to gain his bearings in time, rolling to the side and only suffering minimal damage as it struck the ground and exploded. Still, the left side of his clothes had burnt off to reveal the burnt skin underneath. His left glove also seemed to be out of commission, sparks occasionally revealing themselves from its parts.

Ezekiel grit his teeth, fighting off the pain and threw away the glove just in time for the device to erupt in flames. "Fuck. That hurt! Activate Overload!" Suddenly the golden streaks on his equipment changed into a scarlet red color as they began emitting steam from their system. "Mufflers." His Visor clicked, covering his ears with a small device before he reached for the two objects attached to his MCR. "You'll pay for that, motherfucker."

The mage laughed. "I'd love to see you try!" He willed his mana, increasing the control of his remaining Fire arrows.

"Heh." Even through the pain, the mechanic smiled. "You won't get to see much of it." He dashed forward, throwing the grenades in his hand towards the mage.

The man assumed they were like the first, only redirecting a fire arrow to interfere with it. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't. The grenade exploded on its own, releasing a bright light that caused the mage to close his eyes and an ear piercing sound that almost burst his eardrums.

Ezekiel continued with his path at an even faster speed, now free of the pestering fire arrows that had lost their aim due to the assailant's disoriented state. Amethyst light gathered at the center of his palm before a larger blast of energy left his palm and charged forth.

The disoriented man offered no defense as the blast tore through his body, showing how physically weak Mages were.

Ezekiel heaved, falling to the ground and winced as the action aggravated his wounds. Soon the holographic board displayed itself to him again.

(Distribute the attribute points, it won't completely heal you, but it will alleviate the pain.) Laura's voice rang in his head, making him open up status window.

The mechanic groaned, placing an attribute point into his strength, constitution and agility. Soon, a similar sensation to what he had experienced when awakening the system washed over him, causing his wounds to patch up a bit and relieving him of a bit of the pain. Still, it hurt quite a bit.

But he didn't have to wait much since, a hand soon tilted his head, allowing the content of a vial that was placed at his lips, flow into his mouth.

Ezekiel moaned, feeling the healing properties of the Elixir course through his body and rid him of his burns. He gave his father a thankful smile, though it later disappeared as he stared down at the injured Mage, sporting a torn through hole on his shoulder blade.

"Kiddo." Matthew appeared by his side, placing an arm on his son's shoulder and revealing a solemn expression. "It's okay if you're not ready for this."

Ezekiel gazed at his hand. He had never really done any of this in his past life so killing was a new concept to him. He knew that the hunter before him was as scared of death as he was. But he also knew that he could not allow these thoughts to cloud his judgment in this new world. "I don't like killing. And I don't want to do it if I don't have to. But…"He sighed, glancing on the falling body of the man. "… His mistake was directing killing intent towards me."

Matthew smiled and hugged his son. "Don't let it bother you too much. The man was on a death row for one too many crimes, he wasn't someone to be kept alive. Get some rest, you need it."

The boy didn't need to be told twice, he slumped into his father's embrace, drifting off into slumber.
