Chapter 68

Chapter 68 - Breaking Point: Tears, Truth, and a Tender Hold

I slammed my bedroom door so hard the walls seemed to tremble. My hands were shaking, breath coming in furious gasps as I paced across the room.

How dare he? How dare Kaelen stand there, threatening me with those vile words while Isolde—his fiancée—was just upstairs, heartbroken and confused?

The image of her tear-stained face burned in my mind. The pain in her eyes. The desperate hope that she could somehow make him love her.

And all this time, I'd been the reason.

The door flew open without a knock. Kaelen stood there, his imposing frame filling the doorway, eyes narrowed and jaw set.

"Don't you walk away from me," he said, his voice dangerously low.

"Get out." I pointed toward the hallway, my voice trembling with rage. "Get out of my room right now."

Instead, he stepped inside and closed the door behind him. "We're not done talking."
