Chapter 27

Chapter 27 - The Villain's Morning Claim

I woke up feeling different. The usual emptiness that haunted me every morning wasn't there. Instead, I felt oddly at peace, almost content.

The events of last night flashed through my mind. Kaelen forcing himself on me in the most degrading way possible. My name tattooed on his body. His threats about killing anyone who dared to touch me.

I should have felt violated. Disgusted. Terrified.

And I did. But there was something else too, something I couldn't explain and didn't want to acknowledge. A strange, twisted feeling of connection that made me sick to my stomach.

The sun streamed through the curtains, casting shadows across my bedroom floor. I hadn't slept well, tossing and turning with nightmares where Kaelen's face morphed into a monster's. But it was morning now, which meant I had to face him again.
