"Sterling, what have you done?"  I whispered, my voice trembling.  "He was just asking for help!"

My stepbrother's eyes, usually a deep emerald green, now glowed with predatory amber as he shifted partially back from his wolf form.  His breathing was heavy, primal.

"He was too close to you, Aurora.  His scent was all over you."  Sterling's voice was eerily calm as he wiped blood from his hands onto his dark jeans.  "No man approaches what's mine."

Mine.  That word made my skin crawl.  I wasn't his.  I was his stepsister, not his possession.

Chapter 28 - A Brother's Unyielding Obsession


The taste of Kaelen's forceful kiss lingered on my lips as I stood frozen in his office. His hands gripped my waist possessively, pulling me against his hard chest. My mind screamed to push him away, but my body remained traitorously still.


When he finally released me, I stumbled back, gasping for air.


"Kaelen, you can't keep doing this," I whispered, my voice trembling. "We're siblings."


"Step-siblings," he corrected sharply. His green eyes bore into mine with frightening intensity. "And that's just a technicality."


I shook my head, trying to clear the fog from my mind. The morning had started with suffocating guilt over what happened last night. I'd barely managed to get dressed, avoiding my reflection in the mirror, unable to face the woman who had submitted to her stepbrother's twisted demands.
