Chapter 36

Chapter 36 - His Virgin Prize, His Burning Kiss

Kaelen stormed through the hallways of our family estate, every footstep radiating fury. I'd never seen him this angry before, not even when he'd caught me trying to leave with Jake. His jaw was set, his green eyes dark with barely contained rage.

I scurried behind him, trying to keep up with his long strides while maintaining enough distance to avoid his wrath. The confrontation with Isolde in the dining room still echoed in my ears.

"Sterling," Isolde called out sweetly from behind us. "Sterling, wait!"

Kaelen stopped so abruptly I nearly crashed into his broad back. He turned, and I flinched at the cold fury in his expression.

"Do not call me that," he growled, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Not ever again."

Isolde's perfectly made-up face paled. "I don't understand. I thought—"

"You thought wrong," Kaelen cut her off. "Only one person calls me Sterling, and it isn't you."
