Chapter 50 - Unveiled Intentions
I stood frozen in the bathroom, my heart hammering so hard I thought it might burst through my chest. Fifteen minutes. That's all Kaelen had given me. I could still see his eyes—cold, possessive, and something else I couldn't name that terrified me even more.
My hands trembled as I turned on the shower, hot water filling the room with steam. Tears blurred my vision. I needed to call Liam again. I had to know he was safe.
I fumbled with my hidden phone, tucked into the inner pocket of my purse. Six missed calls to Liam, all unanswered. My stomach clenched painfully.
"Please pick up," I whispered, trying once more. The phone rang and rang, but nothing.
What had Kaelen done to him?
Footsteps in the bedroom jolted me back to reality. Kaelen was getting impatient.
"Ten minutes, Seraphina!" His voice cut through the door.
