My heart hammered in my chest as Lucian emerged from the shadows. Before I could even collect my thoughts, he grabbed my arm, his grip firm but not painful.
"What is your problem?" I snapped, trying to yank my arm away.
His eyes were stormy, filled with an emotion I couldn't quite place. Was it anger? Jealousy? Pain? Maybe all three.
"Do you really like him?" Lucian demanded, his voice low and rough. "Monroe. Do you really like him?"
I stared at him in disbelief. After everything—after he'd rejected me so cruelly, after all the hot and cold behavior—he had the audacity to question me about Caleb?
"That's none of your business," I said, finally freeing my arm.
"Answer me, Aria." His voice was almost pleading now, which threw me off guard.
