Chapter 167: A Friend's Comfort, A Future Shattered
Aria's POV
The flames dancing before me sparked a strange satisfaction. I wasn't just watching fire consume Finn's shirt—I was watching my old self burn away too.
But reality crashed back when smoke began filling the room. What was I doing?
"Stop," I whispered, suddenly terrified. "Please stop."
To my shock, the flames immediately died down, leaving only scorched fabric and the acrid smell of smoke. My hands trembled as I stared at the blackened remains.
I had done that. With my mind. With my rage.
What was happening to me?
There was no time to process this new terrifying power. I needed to get out of here before someone came to investigate the smoke. Grabbing my belongings, I stumbled toward the door, my legs still unsteady.
The hallway was mercifully empty. As I hurried through the dorm building, voices drifted from around corners.
"Did you hear about Aria?"
"Totally cheated on Lucian with that exchange student."
