Chapter 109: A Sister's Doubts and a Brother's Endorsement
The dimly lit bar corner felt like our own private island amid the chaos of the party. Debra leaned forward, her eyes narrowing as she studied my face.
"You totally kissed him, didn't you?" she asked, her lips curving into a knowing smile.
My cheeks betrayed me instantly with their warmth. I tugged at Lucian's jacket, pulling it tighter around my shoulders as if it could somehow hide the evidence.
"What makes you think that?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Vivienne snorted. "Please. You're practically glowing. And those..." She pointed to my neck with a perfectly manicured fingernail.
I slapped my hand over my neck, suddenly aware of what she was referring to. The hickeys. I'd completely forgotten about them.
"Oh my God," I groaned, sinking lower in my seat. "Are they that obvious?"
"Like neon signs," Debra confirmed with a laugh. "No wonder you're wearing his jacket. Smart move."
