"I should probably go," I announced, standing up from our little corner table. My head was spinning from Gareth's unexpected defense of Lucian.

Debra shot Gareth a final glare before turning to me. "Want us to come with you?"

I shook my head. "No, stay and enjoy the party. I just need some air and time to think."

Vivienne squeezed my hand. "Text us when you get home, okay?"

"I will," I promised, adjusting Lucian's jacket around my shoulders.

As we walked toward the exit, I couldn't help but glance back. Across the crowded room, Lucian was deep in conversation with Elias Sterling. His dark brows were furrowed in concentration, his jaw tense. He didn't notice me leaving.

The cool night air hit my face as we stepped outside, a welcome relief after the stuffy bar atmosphere. Debra had insisted on walking me to my car despite my protests.
