Chapter 33: An Alpha's Captivation
I was bored out of my mind.
This party was just like every other—loud music, too many drunk teenagers, and girls throwing themselves at me. I wouldn't have come at all if Elias hadn't dragged me here.
"Lighten up, man," Elias said, handing me a beer. "You look like you're at a funeral."
I grunted, taking the bottle without enthusiasm. My father's words from earlier kept replaying in my head:
"You will treat Sloane Ramsey with respect," he'd ordered. "Her father is our Beta, and she's the most suitable candidate for Luna."
"I don't want her as my Luna," I'd argued. "I don't even want to date her anymore."
My father's eyes had hardened. "You don't have the luxury of breaking her heart on a whim. Think about the pack, for once."
Now Sloane was somewhere in this party, expecting me to play the devoted boyfriend when all I wanted was to end things.
"Where's Gareth?" I asked Elias, scanning the crowd. "It's his damn party."
