Chapter 41: Fury Unleashed by a Falsehood
Lucian's POV
My claws retracted as I forced the shift back, my rage still boiling beneath my skin. I needed answers. I needed confirmation.
I stormed back into the pack house, not bothering to knock as I pushed open the door to my mother's study.
"Mom." My voice was barely human, rumbling with the growl of my wolf.
She looked up, startled. "Lucian! You scared me. What's wrong, sweetheart? You look terrible."
"The wedding," I said through clenched teeth. "Gareth and Aria's wedding. Is it true?"
A smile bloomed across her face. "Oh! You heard! Yes, isn't it wonderful? I was just on the phone with Diana discussing the plans."
My stomach dropped. It was true.
"When?" I demanded.
"They want to have it as soon as possible. Next week, if we can manage it." She tilted her head, studying me. "Lucian, are you feeling alright? You look pale."
"Next week?" I repeated, my voice hollow.
