I walked straight to Bianca and struck her face with my open palm.
I was done with her games after everything that had happened.
I put my full strength into the two slaps, making sure she felt every ounce of my fury.
"Listen to me, Bianca," I said, "these are for your shameless nerve and your deceitful mouth!
"How did I never realize how repulsive your words could be until now?
"Since you love taking what is mine, go ahead—he is all yours now!
"I hope you two have a miserable life together!"
As I turned to leave, Frank grabbed my arm.
"What are you trying to say, Jacqueline?" he demanded.
Facing the Alpha I had once loved, I spoke each word with chilling clarity, "It means, from this moment on, you are dead to me."
I then walked out, pulling my old friend Richard Spiritwood with me, leaving behind a room of gawking onlookers, a sobbing Bianca, and a stunned Frank, struggling to understand what had just happened.
I even remembered to pay the bill on my way out.
