After they left, Marcus couldn't resist caressing my face with his large, warm palm.

"Have you forgiven them so easily? Have you forgotten how they've treated you all these years? If your heart has softened, I can take care of it for you."

Hearing this, I instead squeezed his hand, my eyes sparkling as I looked at him.

"You're overthinking it. I'm not going to kill them, but I can make their lives a living hell. Do you remember that secret? That secret can not only bring down our clan, but it can also send him straight to prison."

Hearing this, Marcus couldn't help but gently tap my head.

"Mischievous!"

Once Marcus was finally at ease, our bonding ceremony finally began.

For this long-delayed ceremony, all unrelated individuals had been dismissed. Only he and I, along with his parents, remained; not another soul was present.

I walked towards him amidst a shower of flower petals and took his hand.
