CHAPTER 12

I should NOT have dragged myself into this mess. I should be home now, lying in my soft bed. Not in this situation, still chasing the car that almost killed me. Whoever he is, I won't hesitate to kill him before he kills me.

We're still here on the highway chasing that car. Many cars are honking their horns because we're driving so fast. I look back at Drexel and he's driving so fast. I look back at the car and it's almost where we are.

It was moving so fast that I wouldn't be surprised if it was already on our side. I looked around as if looking for something.

"What are you doing?" he asked without looking at my behavior.

"Do you have a gun here?" I asked.

"Where you're sitting," I frowned.

"Huh?!?"

"Does it have to be repeated?" he said irritably.

"Okay-okay, angry?!" I said while my two hands were in the air and I immediately felt the bottom of my seat and when I found it, I immediately grabbed it and sucked it. I smirked, this crazy guy is a boy scout.

I was caught off guard when the car we were riding in suddenly crashed. There was no response. I immediately lowered the windshield of the car and tried to stand up when Hilaw suddenly pulled the hem of my dress. "What?!?" I screamed at this while I glared at him.

"What are you doing?" he shouted at me, still focused on driving. There was a trace of worry on his face. Was what I was seeing right? I just ignored him and continued with what I was doing here.

"Can you? Just drive?" I said angrily. I ignored the speed of the car. When half of my body got out and the wind was blowing my loose hair.

"Pwe!" I said as I ate a few strands of my hair. My hair was so messy!! I adjusted my position and concentrated on the target that was now behind us and I was just about to curse when he repeated the collision with the back of the car. He's really annoying huh?!?!

I aimed the gun I was holding at the car and fired one after another. I cursed again. And went back inside. "Lintik! Bulletproof ang pest!" I angrily reported to Hawal and immediately jumped into the seat. He didn't answer and just continued driving. He was seriously focused on the road.

I looked around, only then did I notice that we were no longer on the highway, it seemed like it was far from the city. I didn't ask where we were, because I was still focused on the car behind. How is this?

I immediately ducked when the other car suddenly opened fire again. Sh-t, this car is still so beautiful, isn't this guy wasting it? And we exchanged gunfire one after another and that car wasn't bulletproof.

I just noticed that the car was in front of us. It was moving away from us so fast that I thought it was going to give up but it suddenly and slowly braked and turned towards us and then suddenly braked as well. Never mind, we were facing each other now. The car in front of us revved its engine even louder as if it was getting ready to do something, Hilaw did the same when I turned to look at him.

"What do you think you're going to do?" I asked.

"Just watch and learn" he looked at me with a silly smile that scared me. Sh-t, what is he going to do? He made the engine even noisier and I just held on to the seatbelt tighter.

Whatever he does...I really won't like it.

He immediately shifted gears and immediately sped up, the same on the other side. "Sh-t are you going to kill yourself?!?!" I screamed at him but he didn't answer me. I'm not a religious person but I call on all the saints to please let me live, otherwise I won't stop this bastard from haunting me.

I held my breath as they rushed at each other at the same time, neither side wanting to lose. It happened so fast that Drexel suddenly braked causing me to close my eyes in fear because the car was about to collide with the car we were riding in, I just heard a crash in front and it caused me to wake up.

I was so shocked that I could no longer speak of what I had just witnessed in front of me. I couldn't believe what I was seeing now, the vehicle in front of us crashed into the hood of the vehicle we were in before it flew into the air and rolled several times before exploding.

"What the fvck," I whispered to myself.

I swallowed my own saliva when I witnessed that incident. And I looked at Drexel's behavior, just sitting in front of me and not a single trace of emotion on his face and as if nothing had happened, his attention was just looking straight ahead. I was thrown back in time when he glared at me.

I suddenly felt nervous, as if I were in a race right now.

It's unthinkable that someone would curse without warning and send the car hurtling towards somewhere. All I can say is,

He is a monster.

I don't know where in the world we are. And I can't see what's around me because it's already night. And all I can see is the one in front where Drexel's car is shining its lights so we can see the road, which is very bumpy here.

I just stared out the car window. None of us were speaking, it was awkward. Us. When I couldn't stand not speaking anymore, I broke the silence.

"Where are we?" I asked him angrily and turned my gaze to him. He just shrugged. "What??" I shouted at him. He had been driving for a while now and he didn't know where we were. Wow!!

"This is impossible" I just wiped my face in frustration. And what I didn't expect was what happened next. Suddenly the car we were riding in stopped. no...no...no

I looked at his behavior and he suddenly grabbed the steering wheel. "f*ck, not now" he just said and looked at me without any emotion. "We're broken" he said as if nothing happened.

"F*ck, no, this is not possible" Drexel got out of the car and looked at the front, causing me to follow suit.

"Shh, we have no choice but to walk" he said immediately and started to step and walk with his hands in his pockets.

"Oy. Wait! What's the use of a cellphone? Huh?!?" He stopped walking when he realized what I said. He turned around. And took his phone out of his pocket. He waved it around so I could see it.

"Dead battery."

Tss, I was embarrassed by his phone. I took out my phone and was shocked to see it was dead. I pressed the power button and it didn't come back to life, so it means it's deadbat too. Well, it's probably been three days without charging.

I looked at Drexel and it seemed like he already knew what I wanted to convey and he started walking first. So, we walked together. "What! It's tiring to walk, we probably have a few more kilometers to walk," I whined at him. Habag followed him.

"Just stay in the car and watch it," he said, still walking. Maybe I was just walking because he was walking so fast. Pest!

"What's your car, chics?!" I hissed at him and crossed my arms.

"You said it," I just shrugged it off and continued walking. What kind of misfortune is this? Earlier I was late, then a madman followed us and shot at us, and now the car broke down. What else is raining next? To make it worse?

Suddenly, thunder broke out. I was just kidding. It was still foggy when I heard that a storm was coming. I wish it wouldn't have gotten worse. We just continued walking when suddenly it started pouring down really hard.

"Shit!" Drexel and I mumbled together.

"Why don't we just go back to the car?" I suggested here.

"We're far from where we are in the car," he said.

"It's annoying" I almost said. I wanted a comfort zone to get rid of my annoyance. Ah, I've thought of something.

"Here I am ooohh..soggy in the rain..nowhere to hide..." I sang. I felt my companion looking at me in a bad way so I turned to look at her. "Why?" I asked her. That's the only song I thought of, that's what I always hear from mommy when she's in the kitchen. You can't blame her.

"Will you f*cking stop singing?!?" He said angrily, his eyebrows furrowing. It was funny to be annoyed. I didn't stop and continued singing.

"No one can come close...I wish I still had tears---" I couldn't continue singing and to my surprise he suddenly grabbed me and the next thing that happened was our lips touching. I couldn't move from where I was standing right now. I wish I hadn't heard this song from mommy.
