The Birth of Disaster

They went through everything they could but still couldn't find anything wrong. But then, on one of the screens, something strange started showing up. The cells were eating each other—merging and twisting—forming a completely new kind of body.

"So this is what's wrong…" one of their colleagues muttered.

By this time, Kizuki was on his way home from work. He was a young guy, about 20 years old.

Back at the lab, one of the female staff had finished for the day. She locked her office and was about to leave when she saw a human figure walking toward her in the hallway.

At first, she thought it was just another co-worker. But as she stepped closer to get a better look—she froze.

It wasn't a co-worker.

It was the doom they had created.

Before she could even turn to run, they had already grabbed her.

Mr. President and his wife sank their teeth into her neck as she let out a piercing scream—but no one was there to hear her. No one noticed what had already begun.

Meanwhile, the remaining scientists kept working, still desperate to create a cure.

Back at the party, the celebration continued.

Miya stepped outside to get some fresh air and saw a familiar face—her college friend Sai, who had been trying to ask her out for a while now. She walked over and sat with him at a small table.

"Why are you sitting alone?" Miya asked.

Sai smiled. "Just feeling the weather, I guess."

"So… have you accepted me yet?" he asked, half-joking.

"Nope, not yet," she replied, laughing. "Just wait a little."

Sai chuckled. "Alright, alright."

"So, how's your bro? And your parents—hope they're doing okay?" he asked.

"Yeah. My brother went to work. He should be on his way home by now. And my mum and dad…"—she pointed into the distance—"they're working over there, at that lab."

Sai looked impressed. "Whoa, your mum and dad work in that big lab? That's amazing."

They talked for a few more minutes, laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Then suddenly—BOOM!

A loud explosion rocked the area. It came from the direction of the lab.

People at the party froze.

Then chaos broke out.

Screams erupted. Glass shattered. People dropped their drinks and ran in every direction, completely terrified.

After the explosion, things eventually calmed down. Miya stepped outside to see what had happened.

Her eyes widened. "Isn't that… where my mum works?" she said, her voice shaking.

Sai came to her side. "Don't worry. Nothing will happen to them," he said, trying to reassure her.

Sakura rushed out. "Quickly, call your parents! See if they'll pick up!"

Miya pulled out her phone and dialed. No answer. She tried again. Still nothing. Again… nothing.

Her hands started trembling. Then she broke down and began to cry.

Her friends gathered around, trying to comfort her. "They'll be okay," they kept telling her.

Since most of them had already planned to sleep over at the party, everyone quickly packed up and stayed indoors for the night. They moved back inside and tried to distract themselves with games, but a heavy tension filled the air.

Location: The Lab

"What was that?" Mr. Aoshi asked, hearing the blast.

Panic erupted. People were running in every direction.

Mr. Levi, the senior scientist, stepped out to check what was going on. He stopped one of the workers.

"What happened?"

"There's fire on the top floor!" the man shouted as he ran off.

Mr. and Mrs. Aoshi had just come out of the office where they'd been working on the drug. They looked at each other, fear rising.

Mr. Levi sprinted to the top floor to see it for himself.

When he got there… he froze.

His eyes widened in horror.

The entire top floor was engulfed in flames—and in the middle of it stood something massive and twisted. Barely human.

It was Mr. Aizawa and his wife.

But they didn't look like people anymore.

Smoke filled the air. Screams echoed through the walls. Other staff on that floor were already infected. The virus was spreading.

It was a nightmare.

Mr. Levi turned and ran—but it was too late. They were faster.

They caught him—and sank their teeth deep into his neck.

Mr. Levi let out a deafening scream.

His cry echoed down the stairwell. Mr. and Mrs. Aoshi heard it and froze.

"Is the fire getting closer?" Mrs. Aoshi whispered.

Mr. Aoshi didn't wait. He grabbed his wife and ran to the elevator. He slammed the button again and again—but it wouldn't respond. The system had shorted out after the explosion.

"Come on, we're taking the stairs!" he yelled.

They bolted toward the stairwell and found dozens of other staff doing the same—trying to escape.

Another explosion.

The top floor was collapsing. The entire building started shaking.

People screamed. The stairwell was jammed with bodies all pushing and shouting over one another.

"Move!""Get out of my way!""We need to get out!"

Panic turned into chaos. People were shoving, climbing over others, desperate to escape.

And then—

A strange figure appeared behind them.

Mr. Aoshi turned to look—and froze.

It was a shadowy, twisted figure. Inhuman.

It lunged forward and grabbed a man, sinking its teeth into his neck.

The man screamed. Everyone turned. Some froze. Some shouted.

"What the hell is that?!"

One man tried to pull the creature off—but before he could do anything, another figure leapt onto him, draining him of blood.

Screams erupted again.

"MOVE! MOVE! IT'S A MONSTER!!!"

Panic exploded.

The elevator was destroyed—stairs were the only option.

But it was a long way down. The lab was massive, a ten-story research facility with over 400 staff members. People scattered in every direction, some tripping, some getting dragged down by others.

Mr. and Mrs. Aoshi realized they wouldn't make it in that crowd.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into one of the nearby offices. They locked themselves inside.

The office was mostly made of glass—completely see-through. They crawled under the tables, hiding.

Outside, the infected figures ran past—fasteadly, unstoppable.

They tore through staff with no mercy.

And now, the virus had fully evolved. Just one bite was enough. The infection spread instantly.

Mr. and Mrs. Aoshi stayed quiet under the table.Screams and shouts echoed through the entire floor.

Things were worse now—more terrifying. The infected had reawakened and were tearing into people's flesh without hesitation.

Some of them even jumped through the windows, attacking staff trying to escape from the lower floors.

It was madness. Blood everywhere. Chaos.

But Mr. and Mrs. Aoshi stayed still… silent… breathing slowly where they were.

Location: Miya's House

Kizuki got home, exhausted. He unlocked the door and stepped inside, throwing his bag onto the chair.

He walked into the kitchen, hoping to find something to eat. On the table, next to a covered plate, was a handwritten note.

Onii-chan,Don't be angry—I'm not home.I went to Sakura's party and I'll be back tomorrow. Please eat your meal with joy.

He smiled at the letter.

"Oh? She thinks she's grown now, huh…" he said to himself, amused.

He took the plate, walked into the living room, and dropped onto the couch—turning on the TV and relaxing as he ate.

Outside, far off in the distance, a faint scream echoed… then silence.
