Medarie Capital City

'Lein...'

A woman's voice, familiar to Lein, resonated with a softness that filled her heart with warmth.

'Lein...'

Lein opened his eyes, surveying his surroundings. Everything felt empty, surrounded by dark and silent void with a white mist. He stood still, seemingly confused by the emptiness.

"Where am I?" Lein asked to himself, confused.

This realm like his previous imagination, trapped again in unknown realm...

Lein turned around, and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw the woman he had looked before in the apartment earlier. Her face looked similar to Grace's.

"Lein...?" the woman said to Lein.

"W-who are you?" Lein asked, his voice laced with curiosity.

'I am...'

Just as the woman was about to finish her sentence, Lein's consciousness returned. He opened his eyes, his vision still blurry, and sat up, gazing around.

"Lein?! You're awake!" Reo said with relief and happiness as he saw Lein wake up, and still holding Lein's cat.

"Ugh, where are we?" Lein asked weakly, still feeling dazed.

"We're in Medarie, the biggest capital city... You should rest for now," Reo said with worry but also relief.

"Where's Grace?" Lein asked.

"She's in the bed right next to yours," Reo replied.

"Sorry, my vision is still blurry," Lein said as he tried to stand up.

"Lein, you should rest first!" Reo said worriedly.

Lein didn't listen to Reo's words. He walked towards Grace's bed and checked on her condition.

"Hey, Lein!" Reo called out, but he decided to silence.

Lein look worried as he saw Grace's condition. Her eyes wrapped in bandages, her face was pale, and her breathing seemed heavy as Lein placed his finger under her nose to check her breath.

"Reo, can you ease her stress with you Cause?" Lein begging weakly to Reo.

"Y-yeah," Reo replied hesitantly, he returned Lein's cat to him, standing right beside Grace and using his Mind Manipulation ability to ease her stress.

Reo continued to try to ease Grace's stress to heal her mental health. He began to feel exhausted, and finally, Grace opened her mouth.

"L-Lein?" Grace whispered weakly as her consciousness began to return.

Reo felt exhausted and eventually stopped using his powers. Both he and Lein felt relieved.

"Where am I? Why can't i see anything?!" Grace said in panic, realizing her eyes were bandaged

"Let's take off the bandages on your head first," Reo said with a sigh, helping Grace remove them.

"Th-thank you," Grace said with a sigh of relief.

"Where are we?" Grace asked, looking around with a confused expression.

"We're in the biggest capital city... Medarie," Reo replied to Grace.

"Oh yeah, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Reo Neith..." Reo said and he introduce himself.

"Yes, I know, Lein shouted your name earlier when he told us to go to the helicopter... Nice to meet you, Reo," Grace replied.

Reo and Grace shared a soft laugh, before he turned to Lein and gazed into his right eye.

"Lein?! What's wrong with your right eye?!" Grace asked in shock as she saw Lein's right eye.

"Yeah, Lein, I asked you about that before... What happened to your right eye?" Reo asked, also about Lein's eye.

"Uhmm, I gouged out my right eye and replaced it with my cat's eye, hehe..." Lein said hesitantly while hugging his cat.

"What?!" Reo and Grace shocked.

----

A few minutes later, the three of them picked up the jackets and clothes that had been prepared and changed into their respective outfits in separate dressing rooms.

"I didn't expect this outfit to be so comfortable," Reo said, moving his body to feel the comfort of the clothing that had been provided.

Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and a man who looked like a priest entered the room, his gaze settling on Grace.

"Grace?!" the man shouted loudly, calling out to her, and quickly approached her.

"Dad?!" Grace replied, rushing towards the man who was revealed to be her father.

"Grace, thank goodness you're okay," her father said with immense relief and happiness, immediately hugging her tightly.

"Yes, I'm glad you're okay too, Dad," Grace said with relief and happiness, hugging her dad tightly too.

Lein and Reo exchanged a glance before returning their attention to Grace and her father. A faint smile spread across their faces as they breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you for being there for my daughter and keeping her safe." Grace's father said as he approached the two of them.

"Yeah, no problem, actually your daughter is the one who saved us both and let us join along on the helicopter escape," Lein said, looking a bit awkward but trying to stay calm.

"Is that so? By the way, what are your names?" Grace's father asked, smiling slightly as he looked at Lein and Reo.

"My name is Lein Arcel... And this is Reo Neith," Lein said, introducing himself and Reo.

"Oh, and what's the name of the cat you're holding?" Grace's father asked again.

"Oh this one, honestly I haven't given it a name yet, but now I'll name it Luna," Lein replied, trying to stay calm.

"Is that so? In that case, let me introduce myself too. My name is Saint Adam Victorious XI," Grace's father said, introducing himself.

. . .

"S-Saint?!" Reo and Lein exclaimed in surprise, shocked to discover that Grace's father was a Saint.

"By the way, I'll take you three around the capital city of Medarie. Follow me," Saint Adam said, opening the door to leave the place.

----

The four of them stepped out of the place. The atmosphere in the capital city of Medarie was bustling, with many planes and helicopters having just evacuated hundreds of people.

"This is Medarie, a protection and evacuation center for the sudden genocide that the government prepared decades ago," Saint Adam explained to the three of them.

The three of them continued to gaze around as they walked, gazing at the crowds of people and the grandeur and majesty of the capital city.

"That's the largest hospital here, it treats patients who are injured. The team of doctors at that hospital possesses Cause abilities of the healing type," Saint Adam said, pointing towards the hospital, explaining to the three of them.

"And over there, that's a complex of residential buildings for people who have successfully evacuated to the capital city of Medarie," Saint Adam said, pointing towards some of buildings.

"And that is the largest cathedral here, the Victorious Cathedral," Saint Adam said, pointing towards the cathedral in front of them.

"This cathedral has become deserted, as many people now oppose its teachings simply because the angels have attacked the earth," Saint Adam said with a sigh.

"Let's discuss that, and I want to show you three the largest building in Medarie," Saint Adam said, urging them to follow him.

Lein, Reo, and Grace exchanged brief glances, but in the end, they followed Saint Adam.

----

"And this is the largest building in Medarie and the only training center for counterattacking the angels... the Gene Military Academy," Saint Adam said, pointing towards the biggest military academy building.

Lein, Reo, and Grace gazed at the military academy. Their eyes widened in awe, the academy's enormous size leaving them utterly impressed.

"So... is this the only way to fight back against the angels?" Lein wondered, his thoughts himself.
