The next three months were filled with passionate nights and productive days. I left my job to take a position managing the club Gisele had built for me. My car had been junked while I was lost in my new relationship. We were inseparable and in perfect sync. Honestly it made me nervous like at any moment it was all going to fall apart, but as the wedding got closer we heard less and less harassing from her siblings until a week before the wedding everything went silent. I mean baby sis still popped by from time to time, but while she would not confront their siblings, she always accepted us. Her visits where always welcome in fact she was my made of honor.
Before we knew it the big day arrived and Gisele wore a tux. I couldn't resist an opportunity to put her massive chest into a slightly undersized button up shirt and watch them strain the buttons. I couldn't be sure, but I liked to believe my response to her was one of the things she liked about me. I walked down the aisle in my wedding gown and the service went off fairly smoothly. There were a couple people who tried to sneak in to confess to Gisele and Harper cornered me in my dressing room and told me she was dating a lovely man and the four of us should have fun together sometime. I turned her down and never told Gisele.
We were at the reception and everyone was welcoming. Her sibling's hostility was replaced with nervousness, and then I met her father and I understood so much, "Gi Gi, baby girl, poppa is proud of you. Since you've put your affairs in order poppa would like to keep his word. The whole estate is yours. I couldn't be happier and your mother is so proud. She's already in the islands though. That woman, you know you remind me so much of her. She didn't believe in love either. The only ones she's ever loved was your grandmother and you. Well at least your wife wouldn't have to live with that. No matter how your mother felt if you had strung someone along just to have someone I would never give you my empire. Also never telling your siblings what I just said. Especially your baby sister. She adores your mother."
"I'm glad you guys are retiring. I have no intention of running the company. If Julia wants it we'll accept, but I imagine her plate is already full with her club, so probably best to let the vultures have it. I'm sure they'll except though none of them have time to run it either."
"No thank you father, we are both quite happy with our current jobs of you gave us the company we would just sell it off."
"Sounds good," My father replied in a flat tone handing an envelope to Julia, "This is the contract and a short list of people who will make you fair offers on part of or the whole company. Use the money for your kids college. Gi Gi tells me you guys have already agreed on two children. Ivy league, private school, tutors, and extracurricular activities, it adds up even for the wealthy which Gi Gi isn't."
"Thanks Dad for both the critic and the gift. Enjoy the party."
With that we left him alone and made our rounds. Thanking everyone for showing up and insuring them we'd keep in touch. Before we knew it the first dance, the cake cutting, and the dollar dance had all gone by and we knew all that was left was to enjoy the end of the evening festivities. Watching all the pretty people who had drank way too much fall all over each other to not go home alone. I couldn't help but muse in another life me and Gisele would have just missed each other or she would have been to afraid to reach out to me or I could have been afraid of loving another woman. In that world we would be lost in that sea of people with no notion of love, desperately holding anyone. I grabbed Gisele's hand a little tighter and took a deep breath. Took one last look at the gathered crowd and leaned in to whisper into my wife's ear.
"Let's get out of here. I'm ready to start this honeymoon now."
She instantly got to her feet, lifted me up princess style, and strode out of the banquet hall. As she dropped me into the back seat of the waiting car I realized this was my life now, and I couldn't help but grin and pull my wife tight as we drove into our future.
