In truth our life was not a perfect one from that day, but Gisele never cheated on me and I never cheated on her. We went to bed together almost every night. I never lost my faith in her. I like to believe her faith in me never waivered. We did adopt to best friends they were six and eight and they were lovely girls. They grew up smart and happy and they went on to forge their own path. They made us so proud. THe eldest was a politician and the younger ran nightclubs like her mothers. Neither of them became like Gisele before me. Which only made sense after all they knew love was real. Eventually they each formed their own families and I like to believe they were built on foundations of love. Patricia who was the oldest and married another politician a male senator I only ever met a couple times. They had three grandchildren I adored. Her and the kids visited every summer and for the holidays. Little Gi Gi was the younger and had changed her name legally when she was nineteen. She married a woman who Gisele swore looked like me when I was younger. I didn't see it, but they were happy. They like us adopted. One boy and four girls. He was a stay at home dad. He would bring the kids to see us often and four the holidays the whole family would come. Eventually we sold the business and we retired where Gisele's parents had retired. A small island her father owned with two dozen estates littered on it to make sure we all had a place to call home till the end of our days. When we moved there all of her siblings except her eldest brother and baby sister were already on the island. Her brother had died before he retired and baby sis was still enjoying life.
Little Gi Gi's perspective
I returned to my parents' island home after receiving word from Gisele's best friend Harper that both of my parents were dead. They had lived on this island for more than a decade and Harper had lived on the island with them. I knew she loved momma Gisele and she admired momma Julia, but she never did learn to move on or love herself. However she never let it show that she was struggling.
I watched the security footage of their last night together after I realized momma Julia was writing a story about their love. In that final night momma Gisele passed in the midst of the night and Momma Julia woke early the next morning shed a single tear kissed momma Gisele's cheek laid back down and never moved again.
We put them on a raft together and burnt them in the ocean. Harper gave the eulogy and everyone who was anyone quietly stopped by the island to pay their respects. On that day me and my big sister retired. We decided not to wait any longer to enjoy life and we moved our family to the island. We will move forward sending our children into the world to educate and find love, but we will stay here and appreciate this island that our parents loved, but at so little time with.
