Chapter 11

It was as if he was pleasantly surprised to see me after such a long time.

I paid him no mind, walking straight to my seat.

The judge looked over, confused. "Do you two know each other?"

Alexander blurted out, "She's my wife."

The judge frowned. "If you're husband and wife, there's a conflict of interest. This hearing will require a different lawyer."

I took a step forward. "Your Honor, I have no relationship with him, and we are not married."

Alexander turned his head to look at me in disbelief.

As I spoke, I presented proof of my marital status for them to see.

"I am still unmarried."

"As for Mr. Alexander here, he is married. His wife's name is Isabella Krause."

Alexander looked at me as if he'd just been sentenced to death, dazed and despairing.

His face was a mask of agony.

But I turned a blind eye.

He must have guessed when he was watching the security footage that I had already seen those draft emails and discovered the secret he had hidden for so long.
