"What?"
"Who told you to throw it away?"
Connor shoved Lidia aside and bent down, rummaging through the trash can.
Lidia froze, her voice trembling with grievance, "It's just a stupid ring, isn't it? Do you have to be so harsh with me?"
In the past, no matter what she did, Connor had always indulged her, so she couldn't accept this now.
"What do you know?"
"That's my and Stella's wedding ring."
"Back when I was drowning in debt, she was the one who stood by me through it all."
Connor turned the trash can upside down, finally finding the ring. He then tucked it carefully into his inner pocket as if it were a priceless treasure.
Terrified of losing it again.
This scene made Lidia's expression turn even more unpleasant.
"Connor."
"Didn't you say you couldn't stand Stella? That you didn't even want to sleep in the same bed with her? Why do you care so much about this ring, then?"
"You told me I was wonderful, that you liked me so much."
"Are you going back on your word?"
