I got into the car, my decision firm.
As night fell, the Moonstone Tower was a flurry of activity as decorations went up in preparation for Logan's wedding.
Yet Logan, who should have been ecstatic, seemed utterly distracted.
"Without that bitch Evelyn in the way, I can finally spend the rest of my life with you!"
Sarah squeezed his hand excitedly.
But Logan only managed a forced smile.
His mind was consumed by the image of Evelyn walking away.
Had he really gone too far?
Even though Evelyn had done so much for Moonstone, she hadn't been allowed to leave with even a final shred of dignity.
"Hahaha! Logan, look! That idiot Evelyn actually dared to do an interview?"
"This is hilarious! Look at her, topless. Doesn't she look ridiculous?"
Sarah thrust her phone in Logan's face.
Logan glanced at it, and his eyes stung from the barrage of comments flooding the screen.
"Am I out of the loop? Since when do they let mental patients wander the streets on their own?"
