Irina was out at night again to search for the artifact but she was alone this time. And searching the whole academy alone was definitely going to be a tedious task.

She was the Apex so no one stopped her earlier than this too whenever she was out of the dorm at night.

And now with even more privileges she was allowed to go anywhere in the academy.

The first place that came to get mind while at this search was the academy vault but that thing required magic signatures of the personals that could enter that place.

But her magic signature was not registered there and it might not be registered throughout her time in the academy.

So she decided to search all the other relevant places that could hold that artifact.

She decided to go through the library first . Maybe her luck would not be so bad and she could find some book mentioning that artifact in the restricted books of the library.

It would be a great help of it was mentioned.

When she entered the forbidden area of the library no one stopped her.

It was really advantageous being the direct disciple of the principal of the academy itself.

It was a gamble for her, wasting so much time in the library just to find a clue or anything about the artifact.

Even her father had not yet replied to her request for help by lending her some of his spies in the academy.

Without a proper response she could not randomly approach people even when she knew who some of those spies were.

She had to go through all these hundreds of books herself and stay up all night even while knowing very well that she had an early morning training session with her new master that was the principal.

He did not tolerate any lazy behaviour from anyone and he would definitely be angry if it was her.

Afterall he had so many expectations from her. It was not new for her to be pressured by expectations of someone.

But the principal had now become her master and she did not want to disappoint him by any means.

So she decided to go back to her room after reading a few books while there were still four hours left before her training sessions started in the morning.

She got to the training grounds just a few minutes before the scheduled time.

The principal also came after some time while she warmed up to get ready for her rigorous training routine.

They started with quick workout session including push ups, laps, squats and many other things.

After one and a half hour of the workout they started the real training.

From using her affinity of lightening to the maximum level without wasting any of her magic power, to fighting in close combat without using magic.

Her magic control had grown significantly higher and she could now use her magic power very efficiently.

It was almost as if she has perfect control but it was still far too low compared to her master.

Afterall he was a Saint who was one of the most powerful people in the whole world.

But still she could not help and compare herself with the principal.

Frey Dragonheart was a name to be feared even among the other for saints.

Even at the same level of magic powers he was far stronger than all of them.

Some even speculated that he was at a higher level than a Saint.

But these were all mere speculations. They were nothing more than rumours made by people to have fun and to have something to talk about.

Irina had progressed in every department that the principal taught.

She was practically the glowing star among the other students in the whole academy.

Everyone knew her status as both the princess of a kingdom and the one and only dear disciple of the famous principal.

People nowadays often wished to stick to her just to cury some favours..

But she was still as cold as ever. She silenced them by just a glance and people would flee on the spot.

It had been a whole week and she still could not find anything useful in the library.

She had decided moreover that this will be her last day searching for clues in the library.

She was honestly getting tired working hard just to find nothing useful for her search.

There were only five to six books left now that she hadn't read and she could finish them in a few hours and even get time for rest afterwards.

When she got to the library she was puzzled when she did not find the old librarian at his desk.

Maybe he had gone out for some dinner. But she couldn't shake the feeling of something being wrong.

She shrugged it off and headed towards the remaining books.

She suddenly found something about the artifact in one of the books but it was not clear.

She concluded based on the information of the book that this artifact was not at a place in the academy, it was with a person.

Precisely it was passed down from one person to another person as they were the heirs of some ancient beasts that were prayed among the people centuries ago.

But how could she possibly find such a person.

But this she made some conclusions like the artifact being with the instructors was definitely not the case.

It could be with the principal or the vice principal or even the head guard of the academy who was responsible for the security arrangements in the academy.

A head guard could very well be appointed from the same family heir by heir in every generation.

In fact the artifact being with the head guard or the gaurdian of the academy vault was the most likely case.

She had to plan properly of she wished to fool those people who were in charge of important tasks of the academy.

When she was getting out of the library she still did not see the old librarian.

She somehow had a bad hunch about this thing but she still tried to ignore it and got out of the library.

But the hunch that something bad had already happened or was going to happen had grown into unease and some anxiety.

When she could no longer endure it she decided to search for the old librarian in the nearby places.

What will Irina do when she finds the old man in a bad condition and on the verge of death?
