Ch.70 : The Fashion Battle Approaches

In Class 1-A, Zane was feeling curious about Nic's school club. He asked his informant if Nic was part of any club. The informant explained that Nic was actually the founder and leader of the Unity Club.

"Unity Club? What's that supposed to be?" Zane asked, confused.

The informant explained that the Unity Club was a multi-talented group made up of students from various other clubs. It was more like a hangout spot for those who were top-tier in their fields.

Zane, growing even more curious and also wanting to apologize to Nic, decided to visit the Unity Club. His informant reluctantly agreed to take him. From afar, they could see the Unity Club door. The informant leaned in and whispered nervously, "Please don't stir up trouble. Everyone in there is scary as hell."

Zane smacked the back of his informant's head. "I know that. I'm not here to fight. I just wanna say sorry."

With a little hesitation, Zane knocked on the Unity Club's door. It opened slightly, revealing Olivia, who greeted him gracefully.

"Can I help you with something?" she asked, her voice calm and elegant.

Zane suddenly felt nervous in front of her overwhelming presence. Stuttering slightly, he said he came to apologize to Nic directly. Olivia paused for a moment before replying, "Nic's sleeping right now and he's pretty tired. You do understand the consequences of waking him up, right?"

That alone made Zane break into a cold sweat. "In that case… just tell him I'm sorry," he said with a bow.

But Olivia gave a small smile. "I don't think that'll be necessary. Nic just woke up."

The door swung open wider and Nic stepped out, looking at Zane with sleepy eyes. Zane flinched and took a step back, causing everyone else inside the room to stare at him curiously.

Violet looked sharply at Zane, then at Nic. "What'd you do to this kid?"

Mika, munching on a burger, added, "He looks terrified."

Zane quickly bowed and apologized for his behavior the day before. He admitted it was his fault.

Nic raised an eyebrow. "Why'd you act like that? Trying to be king of the school or something?"

Zane shook his head rapidly and began to explain. "Where I grew up, it was rough. Only the strong could survive. I was always underestimated, so I trained to become stronger and ended up above the rest. When I got to this school, I thought things would finally be peaceful since the senior delinquents were gone. But then I heard Jack claiming to be the strongest, and I thought he was just trying to take over. So I wanted to teach him a lesson."

Nic listened and nodded, then patted Zane on the shoulder. "In that case, protect the school from wannabe punks. Just don't go overboard or get full of yourself. No matter how strong you are, there's always someone stronger. Honestly, I don't even think you could beat Fanny."

Zane blinked, puzzled. "Fanny? Who's that?"

Just then, a short-haired girl with a tough but relaxed vibe walked up. "Wanna fight me?" she asked, cracking her knuckles.

Zane swallowed hard. "No way I'd fight a girl… especially one who's close with Nic. I'm not that dumb."

Nic grinned. "Just fight her. If you're really strong, I don't mind. Right, Fanny?"

Fanny sighed. "Up to you. Just don't whine when you end up in the nurse's office."

Zane was sweating bullets. He remembered his informant's warning—everyone in this club was terrifying. But a part of him still wanted to know if he could keep up with someone like Fanny.

They squared off. Nic reminded them to keep it clean. Fanny stepped in first, and Zane went for a high kick. But Fanny caught his leg with ease and slammed a punch into his stomach.

Zane dropped to his knees, completely winded. He had speed and power, but he hadn't expected a girl to be this strong. As Fanny moved in for another strike, the school bell rang, ending the fight.

Nic waved and headed back to class. Zane stayed frozen, shocked and impressed by Fanny's strength. Eventually, he dragged himself back to class in deep thought.

In Class 3-E, Nic still looked half-asleep, and so did Chloe. When their teacher walked in, she announced an upcoming school event—a fashion art contest for all third-year classes. The winning class would receive an award.

Most of the class didn't seem interested, but Chloe immediately perked up, her eyes sparkling.

Seeing her enthusiasm, Jack stood up and struck his usual overconfident pose. "Don't worry, Miss Clara! We'll totally win this thing!" he declared proudly.

Everyone stared at him.

"Wait, do you even know anything about fashion?" one of his classmates asked.

Jack froze, then awkwardly pointed at Chloe. "W-well, Chloe's got this! She knows everything, right?"

Chloe looked over at him. "So… you're relying on me?"

Jack paused, then forced a nervous smile. "I'll help too! Don't worry!"

Miss Clara shushed everyone and started picking five representatives for the class. The first name was no surprise—Chloe. Then came Selfi, Erina, and Hana. But the last name made everyone sit up.

"Nic."

Jack shot up in shock. "Wait! Miss Clara! Why Nic?! You've only picked girls until now—why suddenly a guy?!"

Miss Clara smirked. "What's the problem? Want to take his spot?"

It was an obvious challenge, and Jack couldn't back down in front of Chloe. He nodded confidently. "Of course! I'm ready!"

Miss Clara apologized to Hana and replaced her with Jack. In his mind, Jack was determined to beat Nic and finally catch Chloe's attention.

Nic, as usual, didn't seem to care much. All he wanted was more sleep. But he understood the situation.

Chloe, meanwhile, just smiled quietly to herself, curious to see how things would unfold tomorrow.
