The figure, who introduced himself as Kael, leaned in closer to Dorian. "I've been watching you," Kael said, his voice low and smooth. "I know what you're capable of. And I think you could be very useful to me."
Dorian raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite himself. "What do you want from me?" he asked.
Kael smiled, revealing his sharp teeth again. "I want you to work for me," he said. "I have a... proposal, let's call it. One that could benefit both of us."
Dorian hesitated, unsure of what to make of Kael's offer. On one hand, he was curious about what Kael had in mind. On the other hand, he didn't know much about Kael or his motives.
"What kind of proposal?" Dorian asked, trying to stall for time.
Kael leaned back in his chair, a calculating look in his eyes. "I have a certain... problem that needs to be taken care of," he said. "A problem that requires someone with your... unique skills."
Dorian's interest was piqued. "What kind of problem?" he asked.
Kael smiled again, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say that there's a certain artifact that I need retrieved," he said. "An artifact that's currently in the possession of someone who doesn't want to give it up."
Dorian's mind was racing. What kind of artifact could be worth risking his life for? And what kind of person would Kael be dealing with?
"What's in it for me?" Dorian asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Kael's smile grew wider. "You'll get a share of the profits, of course," he said. "And you'll also get to learn more about your... abilities. I can help you control them, teach you how to use them to your advantage."
Dorian was torn. On one hand, he was curious about his abilities and wanted to learn more about them. On the other hand, he didn't know if he could trust Kael.
As he hesitated, Lilith spoke up. "Dorian, I think you should consider it," she said. "Kael's offer could be a good opportunity for you. And who knows, you might even enjoy yourself."
Dorian looked at Lilith, then back at Kael. He took a deep breath, making his decision. "Okay," he said. "I'll do it."
Kael's smile grew even wider. "Excellent," he said. "I knew you'd see things my way."
As Kael stood up to leave, Dorian felt a sense of trepidation. What had he just gotten himself into?
